    Steeler injury update Friday morning

I can't see Tebow beating the Steelers this weekend but reading their injury update this morning things look a bit grim.

Ben tweaked his ankle last weekend.

Pouncey didn't practice yesterday because he tweaked his ankle on Wednesday and apparently appears like he might not be a able to play.

Harrison didn't practice yesterday because of a toe problem. I can't find anything more specific about that but being a Batimore fan, anything mentioned about toes at this point is catastrophic.

Keisel sat out with a groin problem.

Polamalu sat out with a calf which seems to always be an issue with him.

    Of course Mendenhall is done.

Woodley seems to be at practice again but his hammy is reoccurring every other week.

They might make it through Denver but at what toll?

I heard on the radio this morning that there is talk in Denver that is Tebow can't get anything started in the first half, they might bring in Quinn 2nd half. Should be an interesting game to watch.

They're banged up, but I think all those guys play.

Only way I see the Broncos winning this game is w/ a defensive or special teams TD. Plus, the Denver defense is going to have to play lights out.

I don't disagree but how much more banged up are they going into NE or even Baltimore next week? The Ravens getting the bye week is so huge when you compare them directly to the Steelers. If the Ravens had to go this week with Yanda, Boldin, Ray, Ed et al. and the Steelers could rest all of these guys, what a difference it would be. Its nice to be on the bye end of things this year.

Every year there seems to be a debate about how there is little statistical advantage to bye teams. I haven't heard any of that talk this year. I remember how beat up the Ravens were for that AFCCG in Pittsburgh three years ago as a result of that tough physical game in Tennessee.

I have no idea why people think this is one of the top teams in the league with the second-best chance behind the Pats to represent the AFC. I want the Bengals to win because I legitimately think they have a better shot of beating New England than Pitt does. Give me the winner of DEN/PIT for a home romp (and a cathartic one if it's the latter), not a Houston team that at least plays defense well and can run the ball.

I dont think anyone thinks the Steelers are the second best chance to represent the AFC. Most everyone I've seen is either picking Baltimore or New England.

I think the game is going to be a lot closer and hard fought that some people think. The Broncos have a pretty good defense, and the Steelers offense has been struggling the second half of the season. The injuries have made it downright anemic.

What the Broncos need to do is POUND THE BALL. That is the weakness of the Steelers. Do that, and get after Ben, and I smell an upset. The Broncos are going to get some short fields to work with if they can generate a pass rush against the Steelers beat up line.

huge opportunity for the Broncs if they can squeeze out some offense
at the very least they should pound Pigsburgh and soften them up for next week.

I don't think the Broncos will win... but the injuries definitely give them a chance...

I think the Bronco's defense can handle their own (semi) like Cleveland and the Chiefs did to Pitt. Denver just has to find a way to get it into the endzone. Like Knox stated they're probably going to need some help from the Defense or ST in scoring or a or a big turnover deep in the Steelers territory.

You're right Galen, Brady Quinn is taking snaps with the first team. Why not pull out all the tricks?
This will be the last game that Tebow plays QB for Denver - mark my words.
