Which does the NFL fear most --
A Ravens GB SuperBowl in which they have to keep showing footage of the Baltimore Colts Green Bay Rivalry
or
A Harbaugh Bowl in which the NFL Network has to talk about Defenses?

Baltimore/New York rematch.
"Can the Giants avenge their two Super Bowls losses to Baltimorean teams?""When questioned, the Elders explained that they were in search of magical powers. However, they're actually searching for the whereabouts of a certain ring. This ring is a legendary treasure that long ago was known to exist"

They will have record viewers and profits either way so I doubt they fear any matchup

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
With how the league has changed the game to more scoring and big highlights, it would be ironic for a Raven-49ers SB.
That SB matchup would provide the biggest ratings I think. Rematch of the Harbaugh Bowl."It is an undeniable and may I say fundamental quality of man that when faced with extinction, every alternative is preferable." —Leonard Church

The NFL would love Harbaugh v Harbaugh.

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
Harbbowl would be big money. The NFL could even do all those cheesy tie-ins about family because you know the Superbowl is a family event. The build up would be epic.
But I still think the NFL would prefer to market the big QB's. They want NO/ GB vs. NE.

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
Why would the NFL not like either of those matchups? Either game would be a huge drawl.

Texans 49ers. No east coast markets or big name QBs

The NFL's ideal superbowls are in order of marketability:
New England vs New York
New England vs Green Bay
Green Bay vs Denver
Baltimore vs San Francisco
Green Bay vs Baltimore
Lemme know if I missed one.

I think if the Broncos make it to the SuperBowl you will see a record ser for the most watched game. This Tebow Guy is a train wreck that wins.

I hear ya , mon frere, but I suspect the NFL actually wants a match-up like Balt-SF.
As a fan, it would be very cool to have a "re-match_ of the Ravens v. the Gints, but I think the concept of two guys as brothers who are HCs of the SB teams would sell a ton of advertising. I also have to give a nod to Actual's very well constructed list, if for nothing else than marketing to population centers.

I assume you mean Jets and Gints with "NY v. NY", but I think Actual's permutations are based upon the current set (2012) of playoff teams.

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
Actually, I think that they (The NFL) love both ideas.
Green Bay - Baltimore Super Bowl means lots of nostalgia, which in turn equates to lots of money after they hype the crap out of it.
The Harbaugh Bowl would be kind of "campy" at first, but it would be a first... and the NFL LOVES firsts. Why? Because they can pump the shit out of it AND... MAKE LOTS OF MONEY!!!

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
The Harbaugh bowl will bore most "average" fans because it would be a defensive struggle. If it happens, there will be a lot of them that complain about how boring a game it is. All the new fans that the NFL has attracted want huge offensive output. They have disdain for a tough defensive struggle.

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
What do they fear most? Hou-SF. Next worst is Hou-GB. Probably Ravens-SF next. This would be another Har-Bowl but that novelty has sort of worn off and there would be no marquee QB which is what they want. With Brees gone, they now want Brady-Rodgers but they'll take a Brady-Manning rematch.

Re: Which does the NFL fear most --
It would be the Ravens/49ers of the 2 choices, Texans/49ers would be worse though. They love to bash Flacco and Smith. Now they would have to push one.
