Review of the KC WC game last year... Blueprint for NE game
I rewatched the KC WC game... We opened up the game throwing the ball, and used crossing patterns several times. Also, Todd was a focus over the middle. I think the strategy was pass to open up the running game. NE will probably think we will come out run/run/pass, so that gameplan would throw them for a loop. Against their pourous passing D, I think we'd have some success... get a lead... and then slow the game down with a heavy dose of Rice & Williams (obviously do not go into that Prevent Offense Scheme Cam is known to resort to when we get a lead)...
I think Cam had an excellent gameplan for that game, so Cam does have it in him. Fingers Crossed

This is my hope.
I would like to see Evens and Torry on the same side to draw more safety attention deep and clear out the middle for Q & Pitta, with over course the LB's looking at Rice out in the flat. If Joe gets 3 seconds or more I feel that type of gameplan could workWe are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. - Benjamin Franklin

I'm hoping that catch by Lee Evans last week really propels him. If he could suddenly become a factor that would be huge in this game. If I was Cam, I would try to get the ball to him early in the game and see what happens even if it is just a quick screen. I really doubt the Pats are planning much around him and if they were forced to adjust for him, it could free a lot up for the Ravens offense.
Belichick is a master as everyone knows. Cam has to assume that Belichick plans to take Rice out of the game. If Lee Evans starts getting open and catching some balls, it will be harder to lock Rice down. At that point we have their D on the ropes.

I'm pretty sure from here on out every team is going to try to play man against us. In that case, the KC game plan would be perfect. It was efficient, ball control offense which is something we need sorely for this game.

haven't seen the KC game plan all year so doubt anything will change for this one.

True... but I dont think NE's D has enough talent to 'bait' the Ravens into inopportune passing situations...
If they execute a KC WC like gameplan well, I don't think there is anything Belichick can do to overcome his defense's dearth of coverage skills

Game plan is all well and good, but unless the players come to punch them in the mouth, it won't matter if it is the best game plan ever. Play will always overcome scheme.

Captain... Not that don't agree, but you still need to have a decent game plan to win any game. Chuck better have a decent gameplan to slow down the Pats O, no matter how well the players are executing.

I really think we are going to work on that secondary early and often. Our best chance is to use our WR and TE vs that secondary. As far as I'm concerned this is the biggest Mismatch in the game.
