Orioles prediction thread
Being the Ravens are now done figured we should focus on our beloved orioles. I know the offseason is not over and we could sign a few more players but never to early for a prediction
I say 77-85
I think the orioles MVP will be Nick Markakis

Predicting a losing season just isn't much fun.

I predict a hot start, then gradually losing 2/3 from July until September.

Re: Orioles prediction thread
I'll say 74 wins.
Last year they were projected by Bill James to win 80. They only won 69.
This year they're projected to win 79. Last year all but 3 or 4 players regressed from their projection. That's pretty hard to do two years in a row, so I'll go a few more wins than last year.Follow me on twitter at @dandrews66

Re: Orioles prediction thread
I'm going to be optimistic and say the O's will go 80-82, just missing their first .500 season in 13 years.

Re: Orioles prediction thread
75 - 87, I somehow think this "Moneyball" attempt will win us a few more games. The pitching will somehow be better, and we'll score enough runs to win a few games.

I'm going to guess they flirt with 100 losses and then flirting gets to kissing and then heavy petting and then you know the rest.

Re: Orioles prediction thread
With all of the off-season moves geared at winning 81 games this year with no real regard for the future, I could see 80-85 games as a possibility this season before sinking back to the bottom of the barrel.

62-100. This team could be the worst team in franchise history.

Re: Orioles prediction thread
I wish I could be more optimistic but Im just too tired of turning wishful thinking into blind expectations.
With the expansion of the playoffs, you would expect to be a postseason player but.....
75 wins and no postseason....but PA makes alot of money (again)

The Orioles have some pieces to build around they just have a horrible front office and a worthless owner. I think their lineup can put runs on the board the question is can they do with the AL East?
Pitching is a big question mark for this team. McPhail wanted to grow the arms and buy the bats. Well I think Bundy is going to be an ace in a few years. I think he will be a star. This year is key for some young guys like Arrieta, Matusz and Britton. Tillman is still young but he needs to turn that corner as well. Hunter needs to stay healthy.
I think this is a big year for the Orioles. We need to see what our pitching can do. If these guys can pitch we can fill in a few weak spots and make a run in the next year or two.
I'm wishing for the best but I'm thinking it has to turn around at some point. Don't it?
