Re: Irsay showing his true colors
No way manning comes back. No one will trade for him so he will be cut. All the chaos aside, it will be an interesting year for Indy and their fans. Luck better be the real deal. As an side, is anyone worth 28 million dollars to play 16 football games?

Re: Irsay showing his true colors
The guy I feel bad for is Luck. Having to follow Peyton's legacy with a terrible team. If I were Luck I'd say I don't want to play in Indy. That fanbase when they lose on s constant basis will be lucky to have 40,000 people in the stands. Plus, not sure Pagano is HC material. Luck should pull an Eli " I won't play is SD bit".

Re: Irsay showing his true colors
Not surprising. I'm sure he began contemplating this decision around the time Manning had surgery at the least.
Also, Manning has to know what's up. Irsay fires everyone who was there working with Peyton?
After 15 years of being in the background, Irsay now comes more into the media and tweets more and all? He's becoming the face of the franchise until Luck legitimately can.
I'm sure the decision was made weeks ago. And some point just before Manning talked to the media, he realized what was happening. They both have now known for a while. This back-and-forth in the media may play out until just before Manning is due his money and that's it. It'll be over.---

Jimmy did use LA as leverage for a new dome but LA didn't want him.

A primary concern is that Irsay would act like a college girl in a Girls Gone Wild video when he got to L.A. Well, not act exactly like that, but you get the point.

Re: Irsay showing his true colors
They had no business giving Manning giving him the contract that they gave him. I don't blame Manning for wanting the money, but this is a part of what comes with that. It is as though Manning finally realized, after 14 years, that he was not the owner of the Colts. It started with that timeout Caldwell called against the Jets, and its been going down the hill since.

Another wrinkle in the story:

The nerves in Manning’s arm are not healing as quickly as hoped and, worse, don’t appear to be progressing at enough of a rate to indicate that he will play again, according to two sources with knowledge of Manning’s rehabilitation from neck surgery.---

Re: Irsay showing his true colors
I have no doubt that Manning would be willing to put a health clause in his contract, if the NFLPA allows him. The problem is that the decision to release him has been made ever since they secured the #1 draft pick. Look at all turnover, they got rid of the entire front office, head coach, and coordinators, that would make NO sense if they planned to retain him. Irsay has been spouting hot gas all this time about Manning. He should be ashamed of himself, but apparently ha no shame. Look at his statements today in the press.

Re: Irsay showing his true colors
Dan Marino said that he had this surgery and that his arm was never the same from it. Ed Reed would have to have a similar surgery for his nerve impingement, but has been holding off on getting it for this reason. If he has the surgery, he can live a good life, but not a good football life. Manning chose to have the surgery.
