No. And Pollard was a beast for us last year and I'd take him over Landry any day. Pollard was a great signing and should be extended as he became a great all around safety last year. I believe statistically he was a top 5 SS in the league.

Not saying pollard wasn't, but Landry gives us solid depth and when healthy is the same player as pollard

  3. Re: Free Agent Tracker -- Post FA News and Notes Here (merged)

As depth, he wouldn't be bad I suppose. I'm sure being in Washington hasn't done him any favors but Pollard is without question the starter.

I'd stay away from Landry. The guy has played 17 games in the past 2 seasons. He refuses to get surgery on his achilles tendon. So the injury is going to constantly be an issue.

LeRon Landry isn't signing anywhere as a backup. He's already been to the Pats and Jets and he has 4 more teams interested.

Yeah let's go sign an all pro safety as depth, great thinking. Seriously it will never get old when people like you fail to realise that players like that will never be signed via FA by the Ravens, unless we are ever in rebuilding mode again and have a ton of cap space.

Just for the Record, Pollard played like a top 5 SS in 2011, Landry didn't even crack the top 10 statistically and is a reliability in coverage.

I didn't even think he was starting material, don't really watch Washington

Hearing Mike Tolbert could be a Steeler

The Cowboys plan on releasing G Kyle Kosier

Wish Mike Tolbert was going to be a Ravens. That guy has a real nose for the end zone. Don't want to see him on the Steelers.

The issue with Landry is health. 2 years ago he had 85 tackles and 8 passes defended in just 9 games. He's very good if he really is now able to stay on the field.

Agreed, he could be dangerous in a Steelers uniform. Would rather play Mendi twice a year than him tbh. Him and Redman will be a very powerful running tandem.

So, who are the Steelers going to restructure next??? Also if the cap is not going to go up much again next year, are the teams spending cash going to hurt themselves next year???

Tolbert's apparently not going to the Steelers.

One reason why I am not going to knock Tandan Doss for riding the bench during his rookie season is, because Torrey Smith would have been doing the same thing if Lee Evans hadn't been hurt. Recently, Bisciotti has been putting more emphasis on playing the younger guys and what Torrey Smith accomplished is why he wants to do that. If Torrey is on the bench, constantly getting stepped over by veterans while we declare that 'We can't count on him, because he has zero NFL receptions', you'll never get the type of season that Torrey had, until he goes to another team and gets a chance to start.

I'd like to see Doss get some decent looks. We could use some help in the return game at a minimum.

Completely agree. Doss could have an impact this upcoming season. Maybe not a huge one like Torrey had, but solid numbers for a #3/#4 WR. In college, he could catch everything thrown his way. Hard to imagine that changed at all.

Manningham to the 49ers. If they get Manning, watch out.

I've never warmed to the way Harbaough handles his personnel, especially when it comes to the younger players. It seems like he doesn't trust them unless they can play special teams. Like you said, had Evans never got injured we may have never seen what Smith could do as a rookie. How many other younger players on this team are in the same situation, I wonder, but have a veteran in front of them, hence they never see the field? On defense, I will admit, it seems like there is a more relaxed attitude towards the younger players, Paul Kruger notwithstanding.

If tolbert continues to draw little interest he could fall through the cracks and be a very good signing for us. If he signed for similar money that ricky did id be happy with that.

QB Alex Smith visiting Dolphins... very intriguing

I believe the Ravens are committed to Anthony Allen which I believe is a good thing

    Eric Winston's deal was 4 years/$22 million

Brandon Lloyd is officially a Patriot

    Samson Satele arrested in Hawaii

    Lions retain Jeff Backus

Yes but Doss was given the chance to play in a game and he didn't do anything (not all his fault, since Cam can't seem to utizlize more than 1 WR, a TE, and a RB in a single game.). They also had a FULL season watching him in practice, and if he wasn't cutting it in practice, then why does he deserve to be a slot receiver on game day for us?
