Also, old friend Justin Bannan headed back to Denver. Had been there two years ago after leaving the Ravens, but hooked on with the Rams last season.

Terrance Newman going to the Bengals is good news for every vertical threat in the AFC North, just another over-hyped Dallas Cowboy.

Giants got him for a 5th rounder.
If he could stay healthy, he'd be a damn good player. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Free Agent Tracker -- Post FA News and Notes Here (merged)
I like Felix Jones as a player, and at first blush I would be interested in the prospect of adding him for a 4th or 5th, but he's an FA after 2012. I don't think I like him as a one-year rental.
I dunno. If we were to acquire him, he would be Ray Rice insurance and leverage--he's as good in the receiving game as Rice and a talented runner. I think he would fit our scheme well. I liked him a lot as a prospect, maybe that's coloring my perception.

I don't see Jones as anything more than a complementary back. He doesn't run between the tackles well, he goes down with the first hit, and he's not a patient runner at all. Plus, the dude is always hurt.
Now, Jon Stewart would be someone I'd be interested in for a 4th or 5th round pick.

What's the story on Mike Wallace? the silence is deafening.
I heard him on SiriusNFL a few weeks ago and he was not shy about talking about how he wanted to get PAID. His demands mayve turned some clubs off, aside from the first round pick. He says he won't sign his tender but it's hard to believe he's dumb enough to sit out.World Domination 3 Points at a Time!

Apparently he wants Larry Fitzgerald/Calvin Johnson type money. He won't get it. Unless he lowers his demands, I see him playing for Pittsburgh in 2012, then trying the market again next year, and again being disappointed.
The bottom line is that I do not see him playing anywhere but Pittsburgh in 2012. Their smart FO makes another good call and gets rewarded.

Re: Free Agent Tracker -- Post FA News and Notes Here (merged)
He's trying to force a trade. He has almost no leverage though and unless another team really steps up it won't happen. The Steelers won't let him walk for a 3rd round pick or worse. Wallace could do what Jackson did last year and hold out, but he doesn't have Jackson's track record so it would be risky - Wallace would ultimately be hurting his own value (and get paid next to nothing this year).
I see him playing for the Steelers this year and walking next. The Steelers will likely retain Brown instead.
