Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
He is a charismatic guy and retirement will treat him well. I'd rather see him on tv than most of the guys currently doing NFL; he knows his stuff and he is articulate. When John Mackey died, exactly *one* active NFL player sent Sylvia Mackey condolences. That guy was Peyton Manning, who sent her a lengthy handwritten note. So for myself, despite the horseshoe on his helmet and his history of torturing the Ravens I'll get past that and give him more than a fair shot as a talking head.
If he does make a miraculous recovery I expect he'd probably want to avoid the Redskins, which would otherwise be my first guess, because of the divisional rivalry with the Giants... The Cardinals make sense but I don't see them investing the money... Hmm. It would be somewhere nice; I don't think he'd want to spend the winter in Minnesota and he certainly doesn't have to.
I'll go with the Miami Dolphins. Again, assuming he's well enough to play.Festivus
His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
I can't find it right now, but I read this week that the removal from Jaws in the MNF booth is in preparation for Peyton to step in to start his career in broadcasting.
Anyone else see it? If so, can you post the link?WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
That would be an interesting move.
I'd rather see him in the studio, in place of one of those knuckleheads like Bill Cowher, instead of calling (or doing color) on a game. But like I said, I look forward to his appearance on tv, wherever he lands.Festivus

Think we all knew this was coming. Where next?
Miami, Seattle? I'd be a little reluctant to tie up too much with all of the uncertainty of his future healthWorld Domination 3 Points at a Time!

Re: peyton manning no longer a colt
Is anybody really surprised at this? The writing has been on the wall for the past few months. There were multiple threads here about this, and only the deluded thought that a classless organization such as Indianapolis, run by an Irsay, would do anything different. If it's a business decision, it should have been made several months ago, instead of jerking around the player and the fans alike.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
No way. If he has any football whatsoever left in him, which I believe he does plenty, he will want to stick it to Irsay by playing on.

I hope Manning goes to the NFC so I don't have to see him against the Ravens again.
He's actually going to the news conference tomorrow. Why? Unless he is retiring I can't see the reason for him showing up. Johnny U certainly didn't go to a news conference when he was shipped off to San Diego in '73.

Re: peyton manning no longer a colt
My money is on retirement.
If he was healthy enough to play, something other than a grainy secretly taped video of him throwing 3 passes would have been leaked by now.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. I feel redskins will have a decision to make either trade up for RG3 or Peyton or do I dare say they will do both.

Re: peyton manning no longer a colt
My bet is on retirement. Maybe some team rolls the dice (since the jury is way out on whether he can still play anywhere near the level prior to his injuries). I doubt this happens however unless someone has some intel that has not been revealed publicy to date (possible)

Jets make some sense if he comes cheap enough. No great defenses in the AFC east, big market, close to his brother, plenty of chances to duel Brady, decent receivers in Holmes and Keller.
Honestly there aren't a lot of teams where he'd have a solid o-line, decent weapons, that don't already have QBs or young guys they're hoping to groom.
