Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
Peyton has been one to shun the spotlight, except for the commercials he does, and he would be under a microscope in New York. I just don't think he will go there even if it means hanging out with Eli more. Perhaps it will be the Dolphins.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
I think his best bet would be the Broncos. Elway respects all time great QBs. with that defense he could go a long way, and with no answer at QB on the team, hed be a good fit. With Fox not being able to establish a real offense with Tebow, Manning could instill his. To me it makes the most sense as opposed to Houston or San Fran who have similar scenarios but better QB options than Tebow. I doubt either drops Smith or Schaub at this point.

Schaub is not a guarantee to be ready for the start of the regular season, is due seven million dollars and is in the last year of his contract.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
To me Denver might not be a good fit because that offense was designed to suit Tebow's strengths (running the ball, bootlegs etc). Manning is obviously a very different yet far superior QB and bringing him in would necessitate changing offensive personnel. Manning wants to win now. His window for opportunity is very minimal (2-3 years). Not sure if Denver can overcome an overhaul like in a short period of time while alienating their most popular player (Tebow).

I am guessing that he goes to the Fins. he has a home there it is warm weather. Someone coming off an injury probably does not want to end in a cold weather city. I am also guessing he will avoid the NFC.

I really don't think Peyton would join the circus that is Rex and the Jets, he is too smart for that.
That would be wild if he went to Houston.

If you are going to take a chance on someone's health, is it going to be Manning or Schaub (Whom may not even be re-signed). Then again, they could just let Yates continue to develop as a starter.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
I'd say Miami. Reggie Wayne wants to play with Manning still and there's been talks of a package deal. I'm sure Manning can say that whoever signs him has to sign Wayne too or he won't play for them. Wayne lives in Miami so it would benefit both of them. I'm sure Manning could stay at Wayne's place for awhile. There's reports that Manning landed in Miami yesterday to visit with Wayne.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
You could be right, I just don't see it. Broncos traded 3 draft picks (to the Ravens in 2010), paid Tebow 1st round $, even beat the Steelers in an OT playoff game. I'm no Tebow fan, but I think the Broncos invested so much in him that it's hard for me to believe they'd add P. Manning's (assumed) BIG $ALARY to the mix in Denver... Bc

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
If you sign Manning, only to see Tebow develop with another team, and don't win a Super Bowl, if you are John Elway, even Denver fans are knocking at your door.
That is a part of the risk for teams looking to dump their QB in favor of Manning. First, as Brian Billick said on NFL Network, you had better get him. Second, you had better win a SB or you could set the organization back for years."When questioned, the Elders explained that they were in search of magical powers. GOTA, thanx for the more current specifics. While I did not know how far the Broncos were under the cap, I still don't see them adding Manning. Add in that we don't know how Elway (and his ego) would handle another HOF QB in his back yard. However, I always respect your opinion... Bc

Listening to sports radio here and the "Manning to the Texans" meme is about as insane and downright laughable as the "Manning to Baltimore" version in Baltimore.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
They had personnel for a standard offense and made them change their offense to suit Tebow. Basically wasting a few high draft pick WRs. If anything theyre better off switching back and grabbing another young QB for backup. That offense has one guy that can run it, and if Tebow goes down theyll need to implement a basic offense to run for the backup anyway. Its really not ideal for any team, which is why Elway is hesitant to commit even with the success. lets be honest, Tebow is a great story but not a great player.
The problem with Miami is Philbin has a very specific offense he wants to instill. Im not sure it would benefit them to bring Manning in to learn a system thats completely different than what hes used to, or have him run his and have the HC not be familiar with his own team's offense.
I think Denver and their lack of an offense but strong defense and overall talent on offense makes it a better situation for Manning. Not to mention they have room to bring Wayne on board. Wayne Thomas and Royal (if hes resigned) would make for a great trio to throw to and theyd have a strong running game even without Tebow. Fox i feel would be more open to it than Philbin being a defense coach vs offensive.
New Regime, no ties to Tebow. I realize it was a lot to invest, but the current GM and HC have no ties to him. His success was a good story, but they won inspite of him more than because of him. Elway knows it and im sure thats why hes open to a competition in camp. If hes already suggesting that, i feel hes pretty much admitting hed rather not move forward with Tebow unless he shows remarkable improvement. I have a feeling Manning could beat him out with a stiff neck and no arm, let alone if hes healthy.Last edited by JAB1985; 03-08-2012 at 01:11 PM.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
Manning and his agent have said they want to go to a team that already has established receivers and a decent Line to keep him upright and He said he would prefer AFC but NFC is open as well but I dont think the redskins will be an option because he does not like the idea of taking the spotlight away from his brother according to AS So the Cardinals I believe are favorites being they have Larry Fitzgerald (sp?)
Adam Schefter
If he desires, Peyton Manning is powerful enough to swing the balance of power in the AFC or NFC West straight to the team he chooses. per facebook postLast edited by Americanmade2012; 03-08-2012 at 02:54 PM.

Re: Peyton Prediction Thread
Agreed. Denver is where he will end up, they have a decent defense if everybody is healthy. They can use Tebow as a gimmick player, hback type. Manning will use him well. They also have a good oline. Plus, AFCW is weak. It's either Denver, with tennessee, KC, Miami behind.
