4 years later ... what is your opinion on Harbaugh? Changed much from day one?

I liked the hire from day one and I still like it. Leading a team to the AFCCG in year one isn't a bad start. 5-4 in playoffs isn't too shabby neither. One division title and consistent contenders is also pretty good. He ,like just about everyone not named Ed or Ray, will be judged on his ability to win a SB, or not. I like his chances of getting a championship though. He and Ozzie have built a good foundation so far. The only thing left to do is win a championship. It also might help if we could consistently beat Pittsburgh and get some home games.

He's doing a perfectly fine job. To say otherwise is asinine.

I think he has gotten better at relationships with his players and trusting them to be professionals. Still needs some work at time management.

Overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give him and 8.3 as of now.

I wanted Rex Ryan like many of the players did. But when it became clear that it wasn't going to be Rex, I wanted any of the candidates but Jason Garrett. Just Jason Garrett saying "no" was a win for me. Harbaugh actually turning out to be the far better coach was icing on the cake.

I like Harbaugh. He's really only a Superbowl away from being the best coach in Ravens history. I think if his team makes and wins another playoff game next year you could argue he already is the best coach we have ever had, Superbowl or not.

I think he's done what he's suppose to do. He's learned from some of his mistakes and corrected them. Some things he still does that I'm not too fond of, but for the most part he's done an excellent job.

I'm just glad we didn't get Jason Garrett.

Agreed on the time management, but the team is very well disciplined. Didn't we lead the league in fewest penalties this year? I know we were near the top. Pretty good considering how things were with Billick...

I think Harbaugh is an excellent coach, he would be even better if Lee Evans catches that ball. But Harbaugh puts the team first and I think that concept works....

Harbaugh took a team that was up and down for years, and made them into a perennial title contender. Some of the credit can go to Ozzie for getting Flacco and Rice, because that's a big part of the equation as well, but it starts with Harbs.

Better than Billick who won 80 games and the SB in his 2d year as head coach? I don't think so and HARBs has had more talent. Billick would kill for Flacco.

HARBs is turning out the way I said so from day one -
just like his old master - Andy Reid. He always gets in
    the POs but always chokes.

He will next year too. It will be someone else, something
different but he'll just miss the SB again. His teams
only play 58 or 59 mins in the POs - not 60 mins before
    caving ala Pissburgh and NE.

I don't think you could ask for better so far. Since he has taken over this team has became basically an automatic play off team every year for the past 4 seasons. It's not really his fault that a veteren drops a ball in the end zone, or that a kicker misses a 32 yard FG (although calling a time out could of helped). There is never any locker room disputes, and he seems to have control of everything, and Ozzie and Steve seem to be very impressed with him. I just hope we take one step further to getting that SB, because I don't want to end up like the Eagles, but right now I aint buying the whole "he is just like Andy Reid" nonsense, Andy has had control over the Eagles for a much longer time than Harbaugh has had over the Ravens, and did actually make the SB once obviously not winning it.

He's been the right coach at the right time for this team. I'm happy with him, more than I was. He said and did some things this season that improved my opinion of him, like the game ball for the fans.

There was a time and a place for Billick, too; by any reasonable measuring stick both were successful coaches and comparing them is pointless.

I think the organizational support for him (from the team and the FO) may disappear very fast when the team stops winning, much faster than it did for Billick, but that's just the hunch of a fan and nothing more.

    ME TOO!

Because I'm a Ravens fan first and maybe he'll go to
the SB next year. He just missed a chance by 11
secs. Last year in Piss he missed it by 2 mins. Four
years ago he missed it by 4 mins.
This year he missed it by 25 secs then 11 secs for
    OT.

At the very least you gotta admit he's starting out
like Reid. It's the system and I called it from day 1.

At least for 4 years, I was right. Hope I'm wrong
    next year.

Yup...it was Harbs that choked and dropped the game winning TD.

I give it an 8.4 because his challenges are smart.

Harbs was the right man for the job. Here's to another 4 years of success and at least one superbowl trophy. He was just a few clutch plays away from making it to the superbowl this year. Every year I got think he's gotten better as a coach.

I think some of them are. The one at the end of the Seattle game was just mind-boggling. I gotta go back down to 8.2 because the onside kick against Jacksonville.

Liked the hire then, still like it now. There's a learning curve with any person in any position. He's not perfect; no one is. But overall, he's a very good coach with his best years still in front of him. Bill Cowher made his first SB in his 4th year, and didn't win one until his 14th year. He's almost universally regarded as an excellent coach (rightfully so). I can certainly see Harbs having a similar career arc (long term success with a SB win or two).
