Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
I'm not sure that was the consensus, considering their record, the divisions in the locker room, and a team captain openly quitting on his QB. I was mildly surprised he didn't get fired right after last season, but I don't see any chance of him holding on without getting back to the playoffs.

What's the fuss for. He'll still be #2. Just list Tebow as a TE that way all 3 can be active on gameday.

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
On the one hand, yes, that's very fair.
On the other hand, it just seems unfathomably stupid for an NFL team to sign a competent backup QB and then, within a couple weeks, give up a 4th to acquire a second competent backup QB.
A 4th is what we gave up to get Steve McNair, FFS. Tebow is no Steve McNair.Festivus

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
I love Tebow so seeing him go to a team I dislike immensly sucks for me. But he will be starting there by week 6. I said in another thread, Sanchez is a mental midget and has the diva type in him, so when the Jets fanbase is calling for Tebow to be out there, it's not going to motivate him, he's going to whither under that.
I've actually changed my opinion of the situation...I now think Rex knows he needs a great season to keep his job and is going to turn to Tebow magic to try and achieve that. Problem is, he's now playing in the AFC East instead of the AFC West, where the competition is much different, and the team to beat in the division made Tebow look like a joke twice last year.

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
When have the Jets ever made any sense? The fan base is split on what to think about the Tebow signing. The greatest Jet of all Broadway *hic* Joe, thinks that the signing makes absolutely no sense. Of course after he sobered up he may have changed his mind... but that is still up for debate.

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
Normally I would agree, but the point is Tannenbaum and Rex guaranteed that they wouldn't bring in another QB to compete for the #2 spot. Had he known they would trade for Tebow if the situation arose, he probably wouldn't have signed there in the first place.

Are there enough Christians in NY for Tebow to survive? NY is a cultural melting pot, will he have enough support or does Tebow Mania die?

Sanchez should be asked how it feels to get "Tebowed!" Tebow will be starting by the Jets 10th game.

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
Sanchez will no longer be babied and treated special with Tebow on the team. Wonder how Sanchez will handle being not special?I'm thinking he will implode and lose the starting job to Tebow.

Sanchez seems kind of fragile to me, psychologically. He's going to implode.

Word on the street up there is Sanchez is really unhappy about this and reacting like a fairly substantial brat.

From that perspective, they were gonna bring in a valid option at backup QB anyway, whether it was Tebow or someone else. They want a viable option.
But last year the whole offense was down. The rushing game was weak, the line struggled, there were way too many dropped passes and Sanchez regressed.World Domination 3 Points at a Time!

Re: Tebow to the Jets - there goes Sanchez's sphincter
Hasn't a Tebow advertising billboard already been erected in NY???
But lo and behold, this morning, those pesky "anonymous sources" within the Jets locker room have come forth to question Tebow's ability to lead the team... that might make Sanchez happy, no?
And yes to all of the above, Sanchez seems coddled, fragile and brattish beyond belief.
