Truth and Rumors pot shot at Bart Scott?
Si's "Fan Nation" really uses this sun article and some generalizations to make Bart Scott look like a completely horrific person.
Fan Nation: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/17014
Sun Article (shocker, by Preston): http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/b...5625733.column
Worst part is that Preston goes on and says a lot of other things about Scott, but SI chooses to grab a little snippet when, nationally, fans have no idea of what Bart is like in an interview or...i'll say it...contextualized.
It really gets on my nerves.
Chad Johnson is a funny trash talker. Joey Porter talks lots of trash, but the media loves him. Ward talks tons of dirt, but you never hear about it. It's getting old.

Please allow me to take a few moments and school you on the real Bart Scott.
Bart is articulate, intelligent, engaging, dedicated and a community-centric man. He is completely appreciative of the opportunity the Ravens gave him..he doesn't drink or smoke...he is an overachiever and his success is quintessential Baltimore.
Anyone that questions his motives or his approach to football or more importantly to life, better take a hard and long look in the mirror.
Bart is continually looking to become a better player, a better teammate, a better husband, a better father and a better man.
To put it all in perspective, I love nothing more than my two children...and I would trust them in the custody of Bart without conditions.

Bart dissed one of the medias golden boys when he made the hot sauce comment.

This year, Bart Scott will trade in the hot sauce and move on to using Old Bay Seasoning when layin' the smackdown on the hapless victims he encounters.
Bon Appetit, bitches!
UNLEASH THE BEASTS!!!!

My next jersey will be a Scott jersey. He is a person people can look up to and use for inspiration. A great person first and a good football player second.

Whatever. Folks hate the fact that we can find superstar defenders in the damndest places. The next defenders to be hated by the media for being so great are Antwaan Barnes and Prescott Burgess. Mark my words.
It is amazing how much love nationally AD gets once he signed with the Pats, that they think us losing AD significantly hurts our defense. When AD was a Raven, he got zero play nationally. It's a Raven-hater thing.
Again, whatever.It's a new season! It's a new day!

Re: Truth and Rumors pot shot at Bart Scott?
Not true, at all. AD got PLENTY of play going in to last season, and throughout the year. The media ate up the angle of his versatility AND he was clearly the best player on the defense that was clearly the best in the NFL.
Losing AD does significantly hurt our defense. For sure. They'll still be damn good, but they will be a lot less versatile.
To say he's only getting love because he's a Patriot is stupid as hell. He was listed as the top FA by just about every "expert" before March began.

Re: Truth and Rumors pot shot at Bart Scott?
AD got a lot of airplay because of some good work by his agent. He played just as good the season before (if not better) and no one said a word about it, yet heading into a contract year he was all over the place.
Like Rex Ryan said, JJ has been with this team for a while and can play with his hand down like AD. I think we'll be just fine, if this team does anything right its draft and play the right LB's.

Re: Truth and Rumors pot shot at Bart Scott?
I don't know, I agree with PR.
AD got some attention last season, but he was still minimized more than he should have been. Comparatively, Joey Porter couldn't hold AD's jock, but Porter was apparently "The Most Feared Man in the NFL", and was getting constant attention. I think AD was the best OLB in the game for the past 2 years (although I think it's arguable); in terms of versatility and being able to play in coverage, blitz, and stop the run, he's one of a kind.
Just watch how much attention he'll get with the Pats.
And on the Bart Scott thing...wow. Bart is the man. And PR is right about Burgess and Barnes. Those are the next two great Ravens LBs. Both 2nd day picks. Everyone will see that the Ravens continue to be the best drafting organization in football.
