Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
Well for starters, i think taking a RB in the 3rd, i wouldn't have made that move. I'm fine with the upshaw pick. We got a first rounder in the 2nd cant argue that. My main issue is the HB in the 3rd. That said, i'm excited to have him, I trust ozzie knows what he's doing. I could think of a few players in the 3rd i would have taken instead of Pierce.

No offence, but why don't you go and be the GM for the Ravens then?
People speculate about players coming out of college every year, but bottom line is that scouts and GM's know WAY more than any of us about what players they really like and what players would fit their team perfectly.

SMFH... *Offense* Really? did you read my comment? This is why i took a long fucking break from this board you cant have a differing opinion, and you have to always be Pro anything the ravens do on every comment. I cant question a pick? I questioned it in the most respectful way i could. Its just my opinion.
Dont be a jerk, because i dont agree with you. Read my earlier comments, i also said i think pierce will be a solid, good player in the NFL.
No i dont wanna be the GM of the Ravens, I just wouldn't have made that pick if it was me, again i will repeat, i will never say Ozzie makes the a bad move, i just wouldn't take him, its that simple.Lardarius "The predator" Webb

Why don't you stop being so ignorant? In British English it's spelt "offence" not "offense", so I'm sorry for speaking in a foreign language to you. I just noticed you like to bash every single thing the Ravens do, it's like you have to be so objective to everything their front office do. I don't always support everything, but I just don't know how you can question the Upshaw pick, when he has graded as a mid first round prospect.

Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
I like what I see from Pierce. His ability to cut/change direction on a dime looks great. He has impressive up the gut power and appears he does not shy away from contact. His speed to the edge and accelerate looks impressive as well. Comparing him to Rice may be a bit unfair. I did not get to see too much from him during his college career, but the highlight reel gives me the warm fuzzies. Then again, isn't that the point of a highlight reel?

Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
As I said in another thread, I actually wanted KO to come out last year as a sleeper OG.
He looked good then. He looks better now. Like him to start day 1 @ LG.
With 36" arms, KO put up 32 reps.
This cat's got some strimff!

Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
Agree completely. Pierce is a head-scratcher. Write-ups on him suggest he is neither very fast nor very strong. Little pass-catching experience. Nothing special as a pass blocker. Anyone have some different reviews? I'm happy with Upshaw. Osemele is said to have all the physical skills but work ethic may be a little lacking -- "bust potential."

Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
Those write up's are incorrect.
He definitely needs some work, no doubt, he's coming out of Temple. There is going to be a learning curve. However, he's got long strides, he's 220lbs with elite speed and lateral explosiveness.
The biggest knock I can see on him is he runs pretty high. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: The NEW Breed of Ravens
Im not saying that Pierce will be anything close to him ablility wise but Eric Dickerson made a pretty nice living running high. I do not remember him specifically but I do remember Temple just embarrassing my Terps. I guess he was a big part.
I am on board with this pick but honestly thought Allen had a chance to be the counter running back to Rice. part of me wonders if this pick was insurance in case Rice's demands remain too high to complete a LT contract.
I guess we address safety and a receiver today. Any good ones left???

One trend I've noticed so far with our picks: We are apparently committed to getting a lot bigger. All three of those guys range from large to jumbo sized with a side of fries.
Osemele in particular is the human equivalent of that giant rack of dinosaur ribs in the Flintsones theme song. You know he's big, but you don't realize how big until he's tipping your car over.My motto was always to keep swinging.
