Plenty of WRs left (Criner, Childs, Givens, Jones, Toon)

    C Ben Jones?

    LB Ronnell Lewis?

    S Markelle Martin?

WOW Nick Toon is still on the board? Personally I'd love any of those WR's, Givens is a burner, Criner would be interesting, would be over the moon with Childs.

I think they go WR with their early fourth, and try and get a safety like Markelle Martin with their late fourth.

Can't help but wonder if since they waited this long for a receiver they'll wait till the end of the 4th.

ozzie said they remained true to the board. so who knows beyond that. we have no clue where the various wrs are/were ranked

The abandoning of our 5th round pick to move up and get Pierce reminds me a little of the decision we made last year with Jah Reid. I think Reid was a so so pick, but were we in real danger of having someone beat us to him. That was what I'm wondering with Pierce too. Was trading up 7 picks in the 3rd round really worth a 5th rounder to take a player that probably had a high likelihood of being there anyways? Puzzling.

if you like a player you do what it takes to get him. apparently the ravens valued him enough to move up.

the entire draft is shoulda woulda coulda. who knows?

Ozzie felt so, thats why he made the move. had we only had 1 5th i dont think he does it but with 2 he made the move not wanting to risk losing him. When you have extra picks you can do this even if he "may" be available when we would have picked. Who would have thought upshaw would be there at 29?

    Re: Day three

    As for day 3

I think our first rd 4 pick is their highest rated WR and our other one is a S or DL.

    5th Rd is CB

    6th, K, OL

    7th, ILB

    Re: Day three

Juron Criner, Marvin Jones, Marvin McNutt, Nick Toon, Greg Childs, Chris Givens, Jarius Wright, Joe Adams, Tommy Streeter

Bobby Massie, Nate Potter, Andrew Datko, Brandon Washington, Senio Kelemete, Gino Gradkowski, Phillip Blake, Michael Brewster

James-Michael Johnson, Keenan Robinson, Audie Cole, Tank Carder, Ronnell Lewis, Josh Kaddu, Jonathan Massaquoi, Miles Burris

Brandon Boykin, Alfonzo Dennard, Josh Norman, Markelle Martin, George Iloka, Trenton Robinson, Cliff Harris

Jared Crick, Billy Winn, Cam Johnson, Trevor Guyton

I think there are some guys who can be contributors still hanging out there on the board. This is just a sampling. There is still over half the draft to go, and the Ravens have five picks to parlay into some quality players.

Ozzie said that they noticed a lot of players they liked were coming off the board, so they felt it was worth it to move up to get Pierce because they are really high on him. I guess that's what happens when you pick towards the end of the round. Better to get five guys you really like than eight guys you are lukewarm about. There are still a lot of quality players out there for the taking.

In the press conference after the 2nd round Ozzie and DeCosta stated that they were staying true to the board.

I think they'll continue to work it that way.

I know I'm probably alone on this one, but I think we can get away with waiting on wr. I would rather have ronnel Lewis or Jared crick with the first 4th then Markelle Martin. Then top receiver left. I cannot believe how some of this talent has fallen.

    Re: Day three

Even though I think Ronnell Lewis is the best player remaining on the board (and would be happy to get him to start the 4th round), I really hope we go with Toon at pick 98. I think he is the most ready to step in and help us right away. The second most ready to step in and help instantly is Marvin McNutt from Iowa in my opinion. Don't think anyone has mentioned him. As much as I like Toon and McNutt, there are still so many intriguing WRs later. Marvin Jones is promising. Greg Childs is really enticing. Nobody mentioned Tommy Streeter either. Streeter is a 6-5 guy who ran a 4.40 Forty. Crazy good athlete. I prefer Givens to Joe Adams among the smaller WRs left. Heck, even if we passed on WR at both #4 picks and our #5 pick, we still might be able to take a chance on Dwight Jones in round six. I've liked Toon from day one, but he's not the only horse in the WR stable.

Most of the names listed above are the ones that have me most excited on the back end of our draft:

    Markelle Martin, S- Oklahoma St.

I'd also add George Iloka-S-Boise St. to that list. I think there is a chance Martin is gone by our late 4th round pick, but he surely will be gone by late 5. Iloka wouldn't be an awful pick at late 4 and would be a very nice pick at late 5.

Ben Jones-C-Georgia would be a nice pick at our late 4th pick.

Michael Brewster-C-Ohio St. also might be a possibility in the fifth round.

We might pass on Jones and Brewster if we feel like Gradkowski is our man and feel like we can get him in the 6th.

I know we haven't discussed TE in this draft much, but Ladarius Green from Lousiana-Lafayette is still out there and might be all the way up until our 5th round pick. He's way too lanky for my liking, but ran a 4.53 at 6-foot-6, 237, which is pretty darn good. He might be a nice guy to draft late and bury for a year or two.

Also, at TE, there is DeAngelo Patterson. He won't ever contribute much as a pass catcher, but unlike Pitta and Dickson, he is a very good blocker. I've seen him listed as a 4th-5th rounder. I wouldn't draft him there, but if he was around at the end of round six, I'd be interested.

Not really. They have 9 picks. 9 aren't going to make it. Plus they have a comp pick in the 5th close to the one they dealt.
They needed a quality RB for many reasons to many to mention. Plus, the Steelers needed one also, and where looking at him apparently. Mendenhall is likely out. I bet the Steelers where going to grab him. Now, with Peirce you have a good RB to split carries and get tough short yardage plays more effectively than Rice. Pierce might be our starter in 2 years, or it might give Rice a reality check and lower his demands. Ravens might have saved millions by making this move over time.

At 6' 3", 220 lbs and a 4.40 40 yd time, he certainly is enticing. Besides that, the guy runs good routes, attacks the ball and goes to it (as opposed to waiting for it to come to him), has strong hands, and is a solid, aggressive blocker. The only knock is that he was injured, but by the performance at his pro day it seems he's over that. I think he might be the steal of the draft at this stage.

I love Ronnell Lewis, but is there a place for him?

I like Nick Toon at this point with his abilities and also am intrigued by Bobby Massie.

I admit I haven't really looked at WR, so I have no formed opinion there/
Like most others on your list though...

    LBs
I'm not sold on Miles Burris (LB) (smells like Jason Phillips slowness there) I like Braylon Broughton better may go in 7th.
    DL
DE Trevor Guyton -Cal, I really like, don't see where we would take him, See a great edge setter in him but don't know the FO board rankings - remembering last year with McPhee out of nowhere to me. I'm sure Jared Crick goes before him as does the other 2 you listed

    Linemen
C Gino may be undrafted, still a bunch of "names" to go before him. Massie I've read is a RT only, where we have depth need LT C/G

    I'm listening for
    Justin Bethel Presbyterian 6' 200 (4.45 40) FS(CB/SS/KR/ST)
    Malik Jackson DE/DT
    Ryan Steed, CB, Furman

    Possible 7th round flyers/UDFA invites I like
Martin Gilbert RB Texas Southern (Reminds me of Ray Rice)
