Art Schlicter sentenced to 10 years in jail.

The fourth overall pick of the 1982 NFL draft, Schlichter bet on football in violation of league rules during his rookie season with the Baltimore Colts, was suspended for all of the 1983 season, and played in only 13 games in his NFL career.

At this point you might be wondering what kind of people would trust Schlichter with their money. It’s a reasonable question: Schlichter has spent much of his life in prison for various crimes related to his gambling addiction and illegal activities that helped him fuel that addiction.

I remember we had high hopes when he was drafted although most folks figured Irsay would find a way to 'f that up. After the guy got suspended, then bombed miserablly, i remember feeling like he scammed us all, like he had no intention of playing for real. Kind of like what Leon Searcy and later on Jared Gaither did to the Ravens. Athlete con artists.

Hope he doesn't try to con a con, losing in prison is different then on the outside. What a waste of his life, some never get right, no matter how many times they get sentenced.
