Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
None of this even remotely diminishes my point. I have already specifically addressed all of these points/claims.
In fact, the Peyton mention even supports my point, because a) Peyton's playoff "choking" was greatly exaggerated like Romo's, and b) no one in their right mind would take the Flacco we know (what he becomes is a different story and unknown) over the Peyton you mention.

Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
Everytime I watch shows like this I think of the afc championship game {For the record Im still not over it but i digress} and I think about if Evans had held on to that pass would it change people, like Jamie Dukes' opinion of him. To me it just seems like Dukes does not like Flacco. How the hell can he defend and make excuses for Romo, Ryan, and Cutler but he is so down on Flacco and thinks that he wins only because of our defense. Did anyone hear his interview on WNST. He tells Glenn not to make excuses for Flacco when Glenn was saying that you can't compare Flacco Numbers with Romo's, however, when Glenn asked about Romo Dukes made an excuse saying if Romo had ravens defense he would win more playoff games.
Here is the link for the WNST interview

Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
The Skip "Clueless" vs. Stephen A argument was a joke. I love how every facet of his argument was pinned on all of Flacco's poor performances.
There was no acknowledgment of his sterling performance in the postseason against Kansas City the year before -- I guess more than two solid playoff performances isn't quite a fluke? Even the Houston and Pitt games which have gained a ton of scrutiny, he held up better than people give him credit for. Overall, in the past four playoff games, his QB rating has come to an average of 92.25.
There was also a nice gloss over of his 101 rating against the Steelers in two games, including the infamous comeback drive. He also played well against the Bengals (twice) and the Texans during the regular season.
I'm not going to vehemently argue for one QB over the other -- I think both are fairly close. But it's clear that Flacco is trending upwards in his ability to play well against good teams. I have to think that fact must have played a significant part in his ranking.

Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
Flacco is an easy target. He runs his mouth to much and his stats don't match the top QB's. He's also not a player for a big market team. Taking shots at Flacco riles up a small Ravens fans base and appeases the masses. Notice Dukes starts every criticism of Flacco with "Ravens fans don't agree but"
The other thing is Flacco just isn't a media darling. He's not a guy that the NFL tries to market, like say Matt Ryan early in his career.

Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
LOL what is crunchtime? Are there certain points during a game that are more important than others? I thought every moment of time during a game counts.
There is no such thing as clutch. Flacco or any other qb do not magically play better in "crunch time". Are people going to throw out dominating performances because a qb makes one mistake and gets no support from his team?

Some players come up in the clutch, some don't. If you cant see that, you havent been watching sports for very long. They great ones play their best when everything is on the line, in any sport.

You really don't think certain players rise up when the game is on the line while others don't? Those moments certainty do exist. What do you think sets great players apart from each other? The greatest players make crucial plays in the most crucial moments. While others fold.

Re: joe flacco #74 on nfl network top 100
Crunchtime is an intangible time of the game when pressure increases to produce, because there is a general feeling that a player or team, from that point forward in the game, will not get a second or third chance to rectify a mistake. Whereas, in the first quarter, you have plenty of time to rectify an early turnover. Hence, the term, 'Crunchtime'.

He is calmer than you about the Ravens not opening the season at home.
