Jonathan Ogden will be eligible for the HOF next year. Will he get in?

Im almost positive he will make it to the HOF next year. What do you guys think?

Another take: Do you think he would be able to handle another year in the NFL? He is only 37.

    (1) LOL ... 1st ballot for sure. If there's any doubt about Jon Ogden, then nobody should get in on the first vote... Bc

    (2) He is already on our roster. Only his name is McKinnie now... Bc

Absolutely he makes it in next year.

He might be able to handle another year, but his heart is not into it. Its why he finally hung them up, he was done with the grind.

No questions asked, and no chance in hell would he come back even for 1 year.

Agreed, and I read (on more than one occasion) that JO was a cheapskate. That's really a good thing if you're a pro athlete because your career is so short. I'm sure JO is financially sound, and I am glad he is... Bc

The first drafted by the Ravens. Woodson and Sharpe are already in.

Didn't the Ravens draft another guy in that same 1st round too? Do you think he will also have a chance at the HOF? If he ever retires Bc

Well... duh! But he happens to still be playing, so JO will get there first.

It's kind of funny that they were drafted in the same year, same round but Ray Ray might still be playing when JO gets inducted.

I never asked if he would come back to the ravens for 1 year. Im just asking in general if you think he would be able to handle 1 more year of the NFL.

It always depends who else is there but JO should be in next year. Sometimes though they do get backlogged and even obvious hall of fame players have to wait a year or two.

as for question 2, JO made it pretty clear that he had no interest in ever coming back. Maybe he could handle it physically but he couldn't do it mentally.

It's a pretty crowded field, but yes, he should get in.

But don't be surprised if he gets spurned. The voters have left out some pretty damn good linemen in the past. Ogden being the best to ever play his position certainly helps his chances though.

If Willie Roaf 11 Pro Bowl 3 All Pro got in his second year of eligibility, Ogden should easily be a first ballot.

The other OL's that got in first ballot....

Jackie Slater 2001 - 7 Pro Bowl, 0 All Pro

Bruce Matthews 2007 - 14 Pro Bowl, 7 All Pro

Anthony Munoz 1998 - 11 Pro Bowl, 9 All Pro

Jim Langer 1972 - 6 Pro Bowl, 4 All Pro

Forrest Gregg 1977 - 9 Pro Bowl, 7 All Pro

    And...

Ogden - 11 Pro Bowl, 4 All Pro

Tony Boselli robbed Ogden of 2 early in his career which kept his first team All Pro nods at 4. As if Boselli, while a great player, was better than Ogden in his prime.

There's no doubt JO gets in on the first ballot. He's a great player and probably the best from next year's class.

Really a no-brainer, which means there's a chance someone screws it up.
This is a novel I was asked to proofread. The author is giving 10% of the profits to kidney research, which is a big deal in the Darb household. Fair warning; it's a fantasy novel, and the main characters are lesbians. It's three bucks on kindle from Amazon.http://www.amazon.com/WINDOWS-BROKEN...ken+fairy+tale

If he doesn't' get in first ballot i wont be extremely surprised, but 2nd ballot for sure. That has to be a lock.

He's a lock to get in next year. Widely considered to be one of, if not the best LT ever.
