    Cody getting Stronger

    Cody feeling stronger

I know some were disappointed last year (probably more due to high expectations), but I think losing the weight that he did is similar to Kruger, it was going to take some time for him to adjust. I think you may see a huge jump with him this year and maybe enough to get some interior sacks to help take pressure off losing suggs. Good things to hear coming from a guy with work ethic/weight issues coming out of college, hes been nothing but focused and determined for us. Good job Ozzie.

I read that he lost 65 pounds last offseason, it definitely took some time adjusting to large of a drop.

65 lbs is no joke. even if it was just fat, thats an extreme amount of mass that your body has to adjust to. From what he says it came off really fast too, which is actually more of a negative than positive in this case.

He was about 370lbs or so, so if he lost 65lbs last off-season that puts him around 305-310lbs, which is a HUGE difference considering his playing weight at Alabama was in the 360's. He didn't look that small to me, but wow. 65lbs is a big difference.

Hopefully he's taking some cues from Ngata and will be playing around 340lbs or so.

I think those reports of 360-70 were a little off. I think in reality he was closer to 400. no way was he a 305 or 310 pounder last year, which if he was 370 he would have been, if he indeed did lose 65lbs. he looked to me to be atleast 330-340 still, which means his weight was a lot higher and closer to that 400 range, which some had him at down in Alabama.
