This guy will get drafted in the Supplemental, but I HIGHLY doubt it is higher than a 4th or 5th.
I don't think any scouts/insiders ever reported that Streeter was going in the 4th/3rd round. A lot of fans speculated because of his size and speed that he was going to go as high as the second round (I was one of them), but that was just speculation from fans, not scouts.

Just because he has a 3rd round grade on him doesn't mean that is where he'll go. You have to consider that teams willing to use a draft pick on Gordon have to really gauge his value against what would be prospective 2013 3rd rounders. Just looking at this past year's draft...is Gordon a better prospect than someone like TJ Graham or Mohammed Sanu? Probably not.

I'd be surprised if any team offered more than a 5th rounder for him.
I believe that was top 10 at one point as well, just like streeter was projected 2nd rounder by some. I could see a desperate team pulling the trigger but there was also talk that some teams were willing to give up late round picks for McAdoo last year and we see how that went.

Courtney Upshaw remains a mystery to me to this day. I was hearing talk that the Bengals where set on taking him with one of their first rounders, and that Marvin Lewis was in love with him. I also heard the Steelers and the Ravens where also very interested, but I guess you can never expect anything in the draft, and he fell to the second luckily for us.

Most had him as a 4th or 5th, but there were indeed a few that bumped him up to a 3rd.

    Same with this guy.

Some had him even rated as high as a 2nd rounder after he clocked a few unofficial sub-4.4 40-yard dashes.

I also couldn't find anything on who his agent is.
I know a lot of hype/"this and that" team's strong interest can be traced back to agents.... so in my mind I knock at least a draft round off for agents
Heck Gaither a LT was a 5th? I can't see this guy going higher than that

i had him pegged perfectly, i said i wouldnt take upshaw in the first. And i still believe strongly, if we didnt take him, he would have feel all the way down to us again in the bottom of the second. i never had him as a 1st rounder. Countered by saying hightower would be a late second rounder....

Re: Josh Gordon, NFL Supplemental Draft

If you go back and look, guys in the supplemental draft almost always go later than they were speculated to be worth. I've always assumed that this is because teams just finished drafting players and signing free agents and so they are not as pressured to fill needs. It's like any job market -- you aren't going to pay top dollar for talent when you've already filled all the open jobs.

Although, I have to admit, the fact that supplemental players get picked in later rounds than expected is somewhat counter-intuitive to how the league normally treats draft picks. There is usually an deflationary factor.

For instance, a team offering a third round pick in the current draft in order to move up a few spots in that draft may have to increase their offer to a second round pick in next year's draft in order to make the same move up.

Teams considering the offer place a higher value on a pick they can use right away to get a player, and a lessor value on a pick they have to wait a year to cash in on. So, you'd think there would be a lot of interest in using a future pick to get a player immediately. I can recall the Ravens suggesting this when they drafted Jared Gaither using "next year's" fifth round pick. They talked about the value of getting that player into camp a whole year ahead of schedule, so that when their turn to pick in the following year came up, they could say the pick got them an already seasoned player worth way more than a fifth round pick.

The other factor is that these guys are usually "damaged goods" for one reason or another, and teams may downgrade them accordingly.

BTW, the Ravens didn't even send a scout to Gordon's workout.

However, they were among the 2/3rds of the teams in the league to send a scout out to see Carson-Newman linebacker Larry Lumpkin work out.

Lumpkin is definitely one of those players whose stock is damaged by character issues.

They had Terrelle Pryor last year as a 1st round pick in the supplemental draft and I think the Raiders took him with a 3rd or 4th or something.

Re: Josh Gordon, NFL Supplemental Draft

Every year there is 1 supplemental guy that gets the media all hyped up. He then falls to something more reasonable.

Pat Kirwin thinks the mostly spot will be the Browns for a 4th round pick. He feels they will pay up a little to make sure they get him. And yes, 4th round is paying up.

This is why the Browns are so poorly run.

This...A 2nd round pick is extremely vital to a team and they piss it away on a supplemental guy. He's talented no doubt but this is a huge gamble.
