Digging the new NCAA game too. I really want to start my franchise with the Terps, but I haven't found a single roster yet that hasn't left off Kenny Tate or Kevin Dorsey. If anybody knows of one for Xbox, I'd love to use it.

CcAaRrSsOoNn3 should be done his roster on Monday night or Tuesday and his are normally pretty accurate.

I actually have a pretty accurate one that I did. You are more than welcome to upload it off of my gamertag. I have Kenny Tate on there (created him myself as a SS) and I also have Kevin Dorsey and Jameel Brooks, who was a pretty highly touted LB recruit.

Madden has been terrible for years. I love franchise mode and with its decline in recent years, I'm not surprised at all it's pretty much gone. EA really has screwed up the Madden franchise. They won't be getting my $60 bucks this year.

I can't wait until they don't have exclusive rights anymore.

Didn't they just re-up that deal though?

Last year's franchise was the best it has been since Madden '05 before the Xbox 360 came out.

One of my favorite aspects of Madden '05 was the fluctuation of player ratings depending on how you were playing. If you were playing with a QB and had a few weeks of throwing a bunch of interceptions, then his accuracy and awareness would drop. They also had off-season drills where you could earn points to bump up certain attributes like arm strength, awareness, speed, etc. I thought those things were great.

I have to agree with Dade. I think the great thing about Franchise mode his how many different ways you can play it. The last few years the Franchise mode has gone down a lot in the "GM" aspect (drafting/scouting). Tell me why you only get to see the combine results for players you "scouted". Were not GM for teams and we know the combine results for every player, plus pro-days and other non-attendees. Combine results are available for every player, and i believe youre allowed an interview with each attendee, as well. To not even know what their 40 or bench is without using 1 of 20 scouts was pretty lame.

I did like that players go up and down with hot/cold streaks as well as coming back from a major injury not quite being as good. That was definitely more realistic and added another dimension, even to the more GM oriented player like myself.

Im really unsure if ill spend 60 for a game missing my favorite feature, especially considering i never finished a franchise with last years, because it wasnt that fun to me. If we keep buying it, theyll keep going in these directions because theyll feel justified for doing so by sales.

That would be awesome. I need a good roster to get my fix in until the community rosters. Is your GT just the same as you message board handle?

Hey guys, curious to see how you guys use the roster when your playing online, i'll share some of the things i do and maybe it'll help.

    I shuffle the O-Line around

LT-Yanda-best pass protector, able to slow the speed rush
LG-Grubbs-probably will be Bobbie W now
C-Birk-I used Gurode on run downs, probably will use KO or Jah this yr
RG-Oher-can really maul, but it seems he gives up the most pressure
RT-Mckinnie-can hide his lack of speed

I use Kris Wilson at TE on run plays, not sure who i will use this year

Anthony Allen is a solid blocker so i use him at FB some as a pass catcher out of the backfield or runner but i can keep as the lead blocker and he does a solid job.

Defensively i keep the 3-4 but i used JJ as a 34 DE, a job i'll probably give to Upshaw now.

I usually start Kindle opposite Suggs but depending on his rating that may go to Kruger.

I used Cary W at SS on pass downs and Foxy and Carr in the nickel which i cant do now obviously. Im gonna miss that depth, still not sure what i'll do about those quick slot guys..i'd rather not move Webb in there if i dont have to but that may have to be the answer.

The first season I generally roll with the Ravens standard defensive playbook, but then the 2nd year I switch to a 4-3/4-6 front and I move Ngata & Art Jones over to DT and drop Suggs, Kindle, and Kruger to DE. Then I move McClain over to SLB and Ellerbe over to WLB (I also normally sign someone). Last year, I dropped Pollard down to OLB, changed his number, and drafted Kenny Tate (SS out of Maryland). I had like 8 or 9 sacks with Pollard off the OLB position. Suggs as a strict DE can get you double-digit sacks, no problem and a rotation of Cody, Ngata, and Art Jones at DT provided a nice run-defense.

Offensively, I usually roll with a WCO. I don't mess with the OL too much, but in heavy sets and goal line sets I swap out the TE's and put in Jah Reid, etc. I rarely pass out of goal line and heavy sets. I like to run a lot of stretch-comeback plays.

I been using more 4-3 as of late...i usually go Suggs,Ngata,Cody,Kruger across the line. Then Mcclain,Lewis,Kindle at LB. I use Pollard at linebacker in the nickel sometimes for run support but from your results it sounds like i need to send him after the QB more. I also use Ellerbe in coverage, i miss having Gooden in coverage.

Who are your best DT's pressure wise, Ngata of course is one but between Redding, JJ, Mcphee, Kruger(speed rush) im never sure who else to use at that other DT spot.

I normally start ngata and cody and in nickle and dime packages i swap cody put for McPhee.

I just don't understand why they don't charge a couple of bucks and just update last years game with this years rosters.

He is calmer than you about the Ravens not opening the season at home.

no money in that, granted they would dramatically decrease expenditure, but not by enough to compensate the lost income.

$40 a year and no need to:
    burn discs (minimal expense),
    ship product,
pay for cases and print covers.

I'd take that all day long, but alas you are right. Young slackers would be able to work August 30, 2012 and not get fired. I will probably wait and get it later this year.... maybe.

There is definitely money in a subscription model for EA - hopefully they get there soon.

Sometimes I wish they could just bring back the old Maddens like 1994 clean it up to todays standards with graphics and let us just play a simple game not all these xs and os bs

Highly recommend it, I have gotten both NCAA and Madden the past 3 years (although I've bough Madden longer than that), and NCAA is always the better game, there's just so much more to do.
