Obama Swinging for the Fences
Obama and team understands the need to hit now.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...GkW_story.html
As the article states, majority of the folks don't know Mitt yet. Since Mitt failed to define the race after the SCOTUS ruling on Obamacare, he will now have to try and define the race as a referendum on Obamas awful economic record AND counter these negative (and mostly false) ads.
Mitt balked. Obama gained a huge advantage.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
Yes, even Rasmussen has OBY up by +1. Most of the polls if not all if OBY up but most are
still within the margin of error which means they're still tied. OBY is getting by on his
likeability while Mitt as you say isn't known yet.
I told you he blew it with the Christians. The were ready to jump on the bandwagon after
SCOTUS and Mitt didn't move towards them. Instead of speaking on social issues like
pro life, Mitt considers and probably really wanted Condi Rice for VP who is "midly" pro
choice.
GOPs shoot themselves in the foot everytime. McCain was terrible campaigner and so is Mitt
for reasons mentioned in the OP and wait til the debates come. OBY will wipe the floor up
with him.Pic of a natural act.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
Romney needs to come out now and define himself before someone else does.
I don't think the polls are moving for two reasons, even with what Obama is doing is because people have made up their mind they won't vote for him, and most undecided people aren't paying that much attention. We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. - Benjamin Franklin

Obama is out there doing this because he is panicking. Remember the polls are heavily oversampling democrats. This is on purpose.
You guys have got to be patient.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
Here you go, everyone of these real clear has OBY up but not by much +1 or +2. Rasmussen has him tied today. All are within the margin of error which means they're tied.
Mitt should be at 10 points ahead in this economy and after SCOTUS but the country doesn't
like or know him yet.
As Rasmussen's electoral map showed over the weekend, it might end up a tie and settled in
the House.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
The polls have gone back and forth for a while now, to say they are because of this that or the other is may be right and it may be wrong.
Two months ago when Obama was up what was the reason then? When Mitt's up in a week and then Obama comes back what will be the reason?
They will go back and forth becuase it's essentially a tie. Plus like Sting said, open any poll almost all over sample democrats and their usually RV not LV.Last edited by NCRAVEN; 07-15-2012 at 05:22 PM.

Seriously, the message I am getting here is that Mitt should just go ahead and concede now because he has lost the election already. Nevermind that with all this negative press on Mitt his campaign is still right where it was a month ago. And against a sitting incumbent with a cash on hand advantage and a press in his pocket. The man walks on water yet can't break away from Romney despite all this spent money on ads and the media helping him out?
I maintain this is all out of panic from the Obama camp, and he is effectively blowing his wad now, and will have emptied his arsonel way too early. And Mitt is amassing his war chest for the final round, which is the one that will matter.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
A pretend conservative from the WaPo agrees with you
July panic for Obama — for good reason
The extent of that effort is only now becoming clear. The Associated Press reports: “President Barack Obama’s campaign has spent nearly $100 million on television commercials in selected battleground states so far, unleashing a sustained early barrage designed to create lasting, negative impressions of Republican Mitt Romney before he and his allies ramp up for the fall.” Think of it like the Confederacy’s artillery barrage on the third day of Gettysburg before Pickett’s charge — you have to in essence disable the other side before the charge begins or its curtains.
Virtually all of the ads were viciously negative, and judging from the number of Pinocchios they’ve racked up, continually and materially false.
But it didn’t work. Romney and Obama are still deadlocked. (The AP quoted Republican operative Carl Forti: “I don’t think . . . [Obama’s] got a choice. He has to try to change the dynamic now, but the polling indicates it’s not working. He doesn’t appear to be making any headway in the polls.”)We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. - Benjamin Franklin

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
LOL - Our old pal is now over on scout saying how OBY is winning big with polls of +8, +8, +8 +8 and just like here he's getting his ass kicked.
Meanwhile, his gal Michelle baby is saying the same as us that the election is gonna be closer than 08.
Now there's a chick who knows her stuff.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
Honestly, it feels like that's the message. That Romney is not out there flailing around with ads and money and therefore since it's July and this is where the election is won, Romney is lost.
This is just a small area we don't agree on. And I am not suggesting Romney do nothing at all. He's getting out on TV now, and there are some new ads coming up. But I think he is about to turn things back to him once the convention comes along, and my info says he has a number of salvo's he's getting ready to broadside Obama with.
Plus, Obama is out there screwing himself. That line about "If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen" is something that is going to haunt him forever. This could be Obama's "Read My Lips" moment.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences
All I was saying was he missed a huge opportunity to take the lead, thus making a hard job even worse.
Softballs like that don't come often (if at all) during a campaign.
And those lines, talking points, etc only work if you have a media willing to report them. This media is bending over backwards to keep the negative attention on Mitt and not Obama.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence.
