Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences

You missed it above. I mentioned that it would be a signal to the Christians if he spoke out for pro life. It would have just been a carrot but it would have been well received.

Instead, as mentioned above, he seriously considers and probably really wanted Condi Rice as VP who is pro choice. I guarantee you that pissed off the Christians even more.

There are other social issues like Santorum spoke on that got him the Christian vote, issues on family values and morals and that kept him in the primaries longer than anyone expected but Romney's war chest just wore Sant down.

Just a couple of speeches on these subjects and the Christians will probably jump on the bandwagon. As mentioned above they were ready to after Roberts but wanted to see some movement from Mitt.
    They didn't get any.

Mitt might have blown the election while OBY is beating him
    to death over Bain.

Why should he say he's pro life at this point?

For one, I don't believe he is and two, he's not courting the base any longer.

But which of his stances is he going to take about so called "christian values". The one that shows love and tolerance of all people or the one that creates laws that force everyone to live by a limited view?

    Agreed.

My wife has a friend who is a single issue voter and this is her thing. She's been so brainwashed, this one issue is the sole factor for whom she votes.

I'm sorry but this is the height of stupidity.

Does she know that women can pursue other careers that don't involve answering phones and husbands actually cook dinner these days?

Oh, and the ban on no-shoes-&-socks in the kitchen has been lifted.

She's a very independent woman actually.

But get her talking about abortion and it's on like Donkey Kong. The only thing missing is the frothing mouth.

I can respect the passion on the issue. My wife is pretty similar, but she's not a single issue voter.

Re: Obama Swinging for the Fences

Pyite - I agree with you after your lead-in paragraph. Everything you posted on his past beliefs is why I'm having trouble voting for him. I probably will to get rid of OBY but those flips are why Christians don't trust him and why he doesn't trust Christians and probably why he hasn't moved towards them and thus blowing the election.

Sorry but abortion is very important since Wade vs Roe and over 50M babies have been killed. If y0ou ever saw an abortion you might not say you're sick of discussing it.

At Hopkins a mother will be on one side of the hall trying to save her 8 month old baby and on the other side doctors are strangling a baby to death and dropping it into the dumpster after extracting it.

I just mentioned it because someone asked what would it take to signal the Christians. That's a biggie along with other family values.

Bush won two elections on family values. There are about 83M Christians in this country. That is people who claim to believe in God but don't go to church and are not involved in God's work.

Half of that are Christians that are members of the church and involved in Gods work like
    missionaries, teaching, witnessing, etc.

They are Evangelical Christians and half of those didn't vote in the last two elections and probably won't this time.

If Romney loses, he can thank the Christians like McCain did.

BTW, did anyone see where Palin is getting snubbed at the convention and might not get invited.

That's because Rove and Bennett are the liberals and brains of the party and running MItt and they have a disdain for Christians like some of these posters here.

Palin is a spokesman for the Christian right and the Tea Party.

GOP shoots itself in the foot every time.

Here's that Palin link not getting invited to
    the convention.

    Somebody sure hates her.

Is this the DEM or GOP convention here?
