Gotta love Chuck Pagano and Zibby, even in Indy
Tells a Steeler fan (yes, at Colts training camp
) to take his Harrison jersey off or GTFO.
Love it!
http://blogs.indystar.com/philb/2012...ts-luck-no-12/
I swear to God these people are the biggest imbeciles on the planet. As the Indianapolis Colts warmed up for training camp practice Monday afternoon at Anderson University, safety Tom Zbikowski did a double take at a can’t-miss fan in the front row of the grandstands.
Zach Simmons, 24, Anderson, showed up wearing the black No. 92 jersey of Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. Simmons is a diehard Steelers fan, with a tattoo on his right shoulder and Terrible Towel in hand.
Zbikowski alerted Colts first-year head coach Chuck Pagano, who jogged over to the grandstand before the workout to make Simmons a deal: Put on this No. 12 Andrew Luck jersey … or else.
Simmons wasn’t sure if Pagano would have followed through on the “or else” part of the proposition, but the coach didn’t hesitate when asked if he would have had the fan escorted out.
“Absolutely,” the coach said. “He was a Steelers fan. I would have gotten a lot of cheers out of these people.”
Go get em' Chuck!!! Haha.Follow me on Twitter! https://twitter.com/#!/thenflanalyst

Re: Gotta love Chuck Pagano and Zibby, even in Indy
That's pretty awesome.
Steelers fans have to be the stupidest fans on earth (no offense to the good ones) but why wear another teams jersey to a pratice or game that has nothing to do with the Steelers? Go neutral if nothing else and maybe wear a hat, but a jersey is just stupid IMO."What would you give for the man beside you?"

Thats pretty awesome.

Re: Gotta love Chuck Pagano and Zibby, even in Indy
I agree that wearing a jersey to a place where it's totally out of place (like another team's camp, or a game between two other teams) is stupid. And Steeler fans seem to be the worst offenders. That said, in the guy's defense he was an Arians and Mewelde Moore fan (both are in Indy now), and was trying to get their attention, presumably for a photo and/or autograph.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...n-luck-jersey/
Showing up fully decked out in gear, with a towel in hand wasn't the smartest thing (especially when the head coach is an ex-Raven). But at least this guy had some kind of reasoning for wanting to stand out. Which is more than I can say for the guys who show up to a Ravens/Skins preseason game in a Polamalu jersey.“[Zbikowski] saw it and said, ‘Look Coach we got to do something about that,’” Pagano said. ”I went over there. He’s a huge [former Steelers and current Colts offensive coordinator Bruce] Arians fan, obviously, and [former Steelers and current Colts running back] Mewelde Moore. So with a little bit of coaching and a brand new Andrew Luck jersey, I said, ‘Look, you’ve got to put this jersey on. If you do it, you get to stay, if not we’ve got to escort you out of here.’”
The fan, Zach Simmons, says he wasn’t trying to cause trouble. ”I’m trying to get Bruce Arians and Mewelde Moore’s attention,” Simmons said. ”I am still kind of in shock, but it was pretty cool for my buddies I came with.”

Thats pretty awesome. Once a raven...
Like steelfan said might not have been the best idea but at least there was thought behind it, unlike some others that just literally go around towel waving. Gotta give him credit, it kinda worked.
Wishing all the ex ravens personal success this year.-JAB

It's going to be hard to not want to root for Pags out in Indy because I do like him a lot...but it's the Colts...

Re: Gotta love Chuck Pagano and Zibby, even in Indy
As much as I can't stand Indy, I must admit I wouldn't be as averse to them doing well under Pagano and with a few other former Ravens on the roster as in the past, as well as being quite lookingh forward to seeing how Luck does with them.

Love it! I get what he was trying to do, but come on... At the first Ravens practice at M&T Bank I saw a guy wearing a Cowboys jersey. WTF?! A bunch of people gave him crap for it and he ended up leaving.

Way to go, Chuck!

We don't play the Colts this year, so I'm rooting for them every single week, with the disclaimer that this might change based on playoff scenarios towards the end of the seasonNever get in a fight with a pig; you both get muddy, and the pig likes it...

I've always scratched my follicle challenged head at this phenomenon.
Mrs. HR and I went back to Bmore for last season Texans playoff game. There was a dude in our section with a Titans jersey on. A few folks mocked the hell out of him.
I guess people get invited to these games but are not fans of the teams playing and feel the need to represent?
Mrs HR got to go to the Texans v. Bengals wild card game and she sported her Ravens cap, telling people she was scouting for Harbaugh. That got a laugh but I would imagine she would have been mocked in her Ray Rice jersey.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. If the guy had shown up with a Ray Lewis jersey would Chuck have done the same thing?

Quite appropriate. The sports' mascot of the school where they are holding training camp, Anderson University, is the Ravens!

Re: Gotta love Chuck Pagano and Zibby, even in Indy
I like Manning to but there was no way in hell I was rooting for him especially after he and the Colts came into Baltimore and beat the Ravens. Also, Jim Irsay did not screw Manning. Peyton would not renegotiate his deal so Irsay was faced with paying this guy another $25mil plus while not really knowing if he was going to be all the way back. He really had no choice but to cut bait. In addition, Jim saw an opportunity to rebuild his team to be more balanced instead of the one man show it was.
BTW, he was making the HOF whether he won a SB or not (see Dan Marino).
I don't get some fans rooting for an arch rival. I am MD guy and after Duke beat MD in the Final Four (fixed BTW) there was no way on this earth I was rooting for the Rat and his phony ass school to win the title. 'Hey, since its not us then you'.
Fuke Duke, the Colts, the Slurs and the Steelers.
