Does Deonte Thompson make the final roster?

I think this will be a surprise and he makes the final cut, Streeter ends up on the practice squad.

It's possible but we need more information that we'll get after 3 preseason games.

Agreed. I think streeter offers something he doesnt but im not counting him out either. Chances are we carry 6 and it comes down to one these two. Should be a fun battle. Just a little early to tell.

I say no.

He's shown some flashes and that's great, but he's competing for 1 roster spot with about 3 other guys and at least 2 of them have an upper hand (draft picks and/or vet status).

This is a deep WR pool, and obviously it's really hard to make the final cut for this team, especially for undrafted rookies. I think he will show enough glimpses of potential in the pre season games to make the PS however. I heard Thompson has always been a great practice player, but beyond that, nothing special, with very shaky hands. We will carry 6 receivers on the team, and I expect Tommy Streeter to make it.

i read he had 7 TDs his first two years at Florida and then production went down...

Jones
Williams
Doss
Streeter or Thompson (yet to be determined but most likely Streeter)

The fact that he went through so many QB's and Schemes may have an effect on that. I wouldn't read much into it. The dude can flat out fly.

If you want to choose which one we actually will be able to stash on the PS between Streeter and Thompson...Thompson would be the one to make it.

Fair chance Streeter will get snapped up if they try to stash him on the PS

I'd be sickened if some team takes our 6th round pick

Fair enough if the coaches think Streeter needs time to develop and isn't ready this year but surely they would do a nudge nudge wink wink IR

I've often heard it said that Streeter would be a target for other teams if the Ravens attempted to put him on the PS. If the Ravens think that's true, it's a point in Streeter's favor over Thompson for making the final 53. But I think it's far too early to say about the relative merits of these two. To make the team, Streeter doesn't necessarily have to separate himself from Thompson in pre-season. But on the other hand, Thompson could possibly get that spot if the reverse becomes true and he separates himself from Streeter, provided Deonte can contribute on ST. Neither guy is assured of anything. This could be interesting.

Wouldn't be at all surprised.

In any case, the next few weeks will be interesting and I hope we get to see both guys being targeted during preseason games.

cerrato is crushing streeter on the radio, saying he didnt look good at all in camp, according to him he doesnt have the "fire"...streeter also got in trouble with the coaches yesterday

Not guaranteed, but unless two starting WRs get cut AND land on our roster somehow, both Doss and Williams will definitely make it, if they are healthy. Even if not healthy, Williams will make it on b/c he has ST experience.

An unhealthy Doss is at great risk.
An unhealthy Williams is at less risk.
Williams will have to isht-the-bed in the PS games in order to not make the roster.

Guys with Thompson's measurables and comparable athleticism, combined with questionable hands, are easier to find. Guys like that Streeter's size, whose hand issues may be more to coming out early and adjusting, etc., naw, he ain't surviving on the PS.
