Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
I know there are "gold diggers" out there, but your case in point doesn't hold enough water. While your brother may be paying through the nose, do you know what it takes to actually live/bring-up/feed/clothe/protect/educate a child (or children)? It takes all day long. So, while your bro may be going to a job, she is spending all of her time and effort in keeping his child (children) out of harms way. BTW, who checks homework, tucks into bed at night, takes to the doctor, makes breakfast before school, gives hugs and kisses, etc... Bc

Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
Jamal confirmed what I said. This is why the media is never to be believed. They lie all the time.
As I said, a warrant is not issued because one fails to pay CS. They summons you to a Show Cause hearing. Jamal said inadvertently missed it, and they issued a bench warrant.
The CS system is a huge joke. Parents should be able to come together and workout an arrangement without involving this corrupt court system.
Oh and Jamal does deserve the ROH. I'd venture to say that no one on this board has a perfect character. Jamal made his mistakes. So what?

I don't know. When I think about the other ROH inductees, Jamal just doesn't seem to fit.

Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
Since we are supposed to stay on topic in this thread, I'll agree. Jamal had his one great year here but left 2/3rds of the way through his career.
The ROH should be reserved for guys like Ogden, Lewis and okay, I get Stover. Not sure about McCrary and Boulware.. And Byner will always be the head scratcher..

Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
Stover and Jamal were the Ravens' offense for long enough. Jamal deserves it. It's not his fault that they ran him into the ground.

Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
Jamal was the major force of our offense in the early 2000's. We would likely not have celebrated SB XXXV without his contribution.
Y'all can debate the merits of child support enforcement laws elsewhere, but I don't know how we can debate if the unproven charges against Jamal should impede his ROH induction without some discussion of the severity of the offense. We aren't considering a violent criminal here. Jamal made some mistakes, but he's no Rod Carruth. Even if Jamal is ultimately found guilty, the ROH honor should not be affected.
It would be a mistake to deny Jamal, while leaving Byner and Modell in ROH.In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T
came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: Jamal Lewis Charged with Child Abandonment
I pretty much agree with T (first time ever?
) that this shouldn't hold Jamal up, but I don't think Byner should be the standard, either. Just because it was screwed up once doesn't mean the RoH should be screwed up every time someone leaves the team.
