    Stevie Baggs

    Stevie Baggs

    No NFL game experience
Made it to last cut of Arizona in 2010, and Lions in 04 and 05 but never on 53 roster.

Know nothing about Canadian FL rules but was signed as a free agent by Hamilton in 2010, Played for Saskatchewan 2008 and 9, Edmonton 2007, and Winnipeg 2006-7. Sure looks like skill but why no stability?

Had 5 special team tackles with Saskatch.
Here is info, but admittedly it is his site.
    http://www.steviebaggsjr.com/about-stevie.html

Now why? Why do we bring in a rush LB that played "DE".
I don't buy camp competition on this one.
I'm seeing 'undisclosed' appearing too many times in reference to Josh Bynes.
I read here that we were in the 5DB (nickle) 50%.... read it off a front page article link, can't find it again.... I don't know who comes out for the extra DB.... but my mind says here is less need/pressure for front 7 slots and here we are signing one. And reading about some added bonus coverage skills in some of the new DBs.

I've read the rumblings on Ellerbe, haven't really heard anything on Chavis (I'll be watching pre-season).
Brendon Ayanbadejo is in his last year, need to hear cap issues.
Also remembering how ST wasn't good, how we have seen ST really fortified, and BA was on that mediocre one. I'm not saying anything, just wondering if he is closer to bubble instead of lock.
Add in the signings of Darryl Blackstock, Ricky Brown
Toss Nigel Carr into the mix
And the names we know including McClellan, starters and PUP....

I'm puzzled why we added Baggs.
I can say "Oh yeah we improving the team, adding competition"
But to quote the old saying of where there is smoke there is fire? I'm smelling smoke, just not sure exactly there it is coming from, but getting the feeling of bye-bye to one or more last year's 53. A deliberate effort.

Yeah I was talking to a CFL fan and he told me the same information you have about him. I asked if this maybe a Cameron Wake type player and he said no. He stated that no CFL team was eager to sign this guy, so that should give us some insight, but not a definate on what this player can do.

I was told that Baggs had the benefit of an even better player opposite him on the D line and that player was taking all of the double teams so that Baggs could get to the QB. Just a camp body from what I'm taking, but I am wondering why this now. I was talking to a local sports host and he mentioned that some players such as Ellerbe maybe in danger of not making it. We should have some different names on the 53 this year and in passing comments seem to get that feeling from the Ravens as well.

I saw a 40 out there today and wondered why he didn't have a name on his jersey, that explains it...

Cannon fodder for the 4th Quarter of the first preseason game to prevent an injury to any guys we might actually care about keeping.

I knew I heard the name before.

The last time I saw him was on a reality show called 'Love & Hip Hop Atlanta' where he was out on a date and the chick jumped him (ie literally jumped on top of him and kissed him). Later in the episode she said he wasn't her type.

It was just on two weeks ago on VH1. SMH

The only way he makes the squad is if his first name turns out to be Bilbo.

I can't find the link now, but Coach Harbs finally disclosed that Josh Bynes has a bruise or two on vertebrae in his spine.

I don't know why I keep thinking of Scottie Riggs, when I hear this guy's name.

I'm actually really interested with this guy. He seems like he's got some nice pass rushing skills. With Upshaw and Blackstock missing tomorrow night's game, Baggs could get some solid playing time vs. Atlanta tomorrow night.

Read, I think in the $un yesterday, cracked vertebrae, bone chips and 4-5 weeks healing. If so he could miss most/all preseason, which means IR, PS, or healed and cut.

Baggs may in fact be a camp body, but now sounds to me that he is a Bynes replacement camp body.
