Breaking Bad fans ....
So Mrs. HR and I are playing some catch up and have started watching Breaking Bad.
We are a few episodes into season 2 and have came away a little disappointed thus far (with the exception of Tuco getting whacked).
Should we stay with it? Nothing irks us more than horrible TV / film and if it's not worth it, we're going to move on to another show.

I think it's maybe the best show on tv other than Game of Thrones. But if the first season didn't do it for you, odds are that none of them will.

Things will definitely pick up. The show seems to have to different arcs. Some seasons they have a series of crisis one after the other (like season 1) where the tension keeps building and releasing and you get a lot of excitement. Season 2 is one where instead of building and releasing the tension over and over, they just keep ratcheting it up slowly over the course of the season. It's frustrating to watch but pays off.

BB does way more in the way of character development than most shows care to. In the end, the shows primary purpose is to explore the transformation of Walt from mild mannered science teacher to drug dealer. Because of that, appreciating the show hinges on the viewer's relationship with the characters: those you love, those you hate, and those you love to hate. Like Game of Thrones, some people may find the slow moving plot frustrating, but in the end, the shows are about the characters, the personalities more than they are about the plot.

I've been watching Mad Men lately. However, Breaking Bad has been on my list to check out.
Definitely can't wait for the next season of GOT.When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Breaking Bad fans ....
Game of thrones is pretty well made but the story is a little hokey. So much of the plot is just nonsensical.
The actors do a good job mostly. Except for the desert parts. They could have left that whole thing out and the show would have been better off. That blonde haired chick has a great booty, but it is painful to listen to her dialog.
I don't see what all the hype is about. I mean unless you like watching midget porn.

To me, the whole medieval thing is what's really cool. It's like Lord of the Rings, but more violent.
I still think The Wire was and is the best show ever on TV.When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

The Wire is great. Best I've ever seen and I'm not from Baltimore nor did I live here until the final season. The Shield is a close 2nd.
BB is very good but quite as good as the above. Still better than most series on today. Good character development. Good plot. Scripts could better but still the are very solid. Just 4-5 more eps for me to catch up to this season. All of my catching up has been done since Christmas.
Just hit me: Ironically and maybe intentionally, the character that is "broken" physically is the only one not broken morally. ...well at least so far.

SoA is on my list as well.
Agree about The Wire. No show has come close, with the exception of The Sopranos. They are my 1 and 2 respectively.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Did anyone watch Homeland's 1st season? I thought it was pretty good. I definitely enjoyed it. Hopefully the 2nd season will be as good.
