Re: Draft stuff...Tyrann Mathieu
He really loves playing for LSU. It may seem strange but I think he really enjoys being a college athlete on a big time football school. He failed atleast 3 tests because LSU'S policy says the 3rd time is suspension. LSU had put him in rehab over the Summer but it didn't help. He's a good guy it's just that he likes smoking weed. I think he intends on trying to get clean and get a spot on the 13' LSU football team. I hope he makes it all the way back and finishes what he started.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/...d-drug-chargesTyrann Mathieu and three other former LSU football players were arrested Thursday on drug-related charges.
Dale Zanine/US PresswireTyrann Mathieu won the Bednarik Award as national defensive player of the year last season.
Mathieu and former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson were charged with simple possession of marijuana, the Baton Rouge police department said in a release.
Former Tigers safety Karnell Hatcher also was charged with simple possession while former defensive back Derrick Bryant was arrested for possession with intent to distribute.
According to the police report, officers found the marijuana in Mathieu's apartment Thursday afternoon. Mathieu answered the door, and officers "immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana," the police report stated.
After Mathieu, 20, gave the police his consent to search the apartment, officers discovered a marijuana grinder, a digital scale and 10 bags of high-grade marijuana, including seven in Bryant's backpack, according to the report.
Police say they were called to the apartment complex after receiving a complaint about a man, who later was identified as the 22-year-old Jefferson, forcing his way through the security gate before going to Mathieu's apartment.
Known as the "Honey Badger," Mathieu was a Heisman Trophy finalist last season but was kicked off the team this year after failing multiple drug tests.
Jefferson was the starting quarterback on last season's team, which lost to Alabama in the BCS National Championship game.

SMH...
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

What a fucking idiot? Oh, weed only got me kicked off of a major college programs football team. Let me just keep smoking weed and better yet, now I want to sell it.
He needs some guidance. Seriously, he has thrown his life away. In 20 years he'll look back on this series of moves and hate himself for being so stupid.

He may get invited to a camp, but #1 there is no way LSU is letting him back into their program and #2 I'd seriously doubt many NFL teams would waste a draft pick on him.

Wonder if he can get the money he spent on rehab back?

I'm usually all about passing on guys like this, but I would be ok with bringing him in as a UDFA. I think he has the ability to be a unique defender in the NFL, a nickel corner/ safety is what I'd do with him. Let him blitz off the edge a lot, free lance ala Reed in the deep secondary. His size limits his ability to man up on receivers Torrey Smith sized and up, but he could be a killer in zone coverage.
He is a froot loop for sure though and his contract should be designed to protect the teamMy motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron

Guess we are both having trouble sleeping ....
I gotta disagree. He's a head case no matter how you slice it. Last thing I'd want is that element in the Ravens locker room. I know weed is the NFL's dirty little secret but this is a whole new ball game.
I have to draw the line when it comes to distribution.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Nah, I work nights actually. Yea, I see how this is different. At least he was only charged with possession. I just remember watching this guy play and thinking it would be awesome if he could be a Raven... Maybe I'm holding onto that feeling and letting it override good sense.
If we take him or pass on him, I'm confident that it will be for solid reasons though. My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron

I agree and honestly, that really isn't the main point - IMO - in all of this.
If he has intentions on getting back into LSU and playing in the NFL and he is willing to jeopardize that like this? The kid obviously has trouble figuring out good decisions from bad decision. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

He was charged with simple possession, not possession with intent to distribute.
Four dudes, ten bags of weed, 7 of which are in one of the dudes backpack. That says to me the dude with the backpack sold each of the other dudes a bag. Turns out that's how the police saw it as well. It's not like he was running a trap house.
