Thread: Anyone have a Suggs update?

Re: Anyone have a Suggs update?
Good catch, nice work.
That is still 1 out of hundreds, if not more.Williams, though, was an offensive lineman. Suggs is an outside linebacker/defensive end. There is more change of direction needed for pass rushing specialists like Suggs, who has 82.5 career sacks.
He has to come hard off the corner because power and quickness in that first step is a major advantage. Last year, Suggs had a career-high 14 sacks and was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year.
Can he regain that form?
"I was a quick, fast guard and I had a strong lower power game," Williams said. "With the injury, I thought all of that had been compromised. I actually came back and was on the scout team a month before I started the first game."
So we have found one remarkable, best case scenario and it still took 6.5 months to return. Not to mention the fact that on Oline you aren't driving into opponents pushing off, you are keeping them at bay with your footwork for the most part.

Re: Anyone have a Suggs update?
Didn't Demaryius Thomas completely tear his Achilles in 2011, but was activated in September 2011? I know that it took him a while to get up to full speed, but it didn't stop him from making that huge run against the Steelers in the play offs.
That was 7 months of recovery for Thomas, and that was with a full tear, and everything I'm reading about partial tears, nearly all the research is telling me 4-6 months until you can get back to competing again. It's around 3 months to get back to normal activity.

Re: Anyone have a Suggs update?
Okay, my wife former professional ballerina (top of her game) and has seen her fair share of Achilles tears. She is now a massage therapist and has worked on many people who have had the injury. I asked her her opinion on this, I should have asked her sooner.
She said a partial tear is far better to have than a full for obvious reasons, but primarily because the length of the tendon and ability for the muscle to stretch will not be compromised after the surgery. The area will heal and perform much the way it did. Additionally, it will heal faster.
Now all you guys can post all the links you want and post ghost doctor reports till the cows come home, but she said Suggs should be fully recovered in 6-8 months and I believe her. Judging by his athletic prowess and conditioning, she believes he would be ready on the lower end of that spectrum, if not before, but do to the nature of the game and getting in football shape, the time table of November is likely accurate.

November would be a bonus. If he could get some games under his belt before Pittsburgh, that would be great.

Whether it is Albert McClellan or Courtney Upshaw who is the starter, both that person and Kruger will be taking more snaps than they are accustomed to. Having Suggs back late in the season could really help, in the case that one of them needs more of a breather.

I heard his ankle fell off. Could be a bad source though.
