Re: Ryan Clark only hates the Ravens twice a year
I don't know if you get a chance to watch Steeler games but Tomlin is emotional and often does a lot of fist pumping, yelling and cheering like a fan after a big hit or play. Harbaugh does very little of that unless its after a TD. If you are referring to the gatorade baths, Harbs does it mainly if they win against a team that a coach or player had serious history with (Cam with the Fish, Zorn with the Slurs, Willie with Bengals and he got it for beating his brother). He's also been known to talk a bit or throw a 'jab' at the fans or camera after a big win.
As for the Steelers being old, they were and still are at least on defense. They were the oldest team in the league and after releasing so many players most choose or in the case of Ass Ward were forced to retire. I don't know what else I can say but the truth here.
Hope that helps.

Ryan Clark is full of shit.

No way you are the only one man. In the beginning, they were a measure of success that we only hoped to achieve during the dark days.
I remember a quote from I think Sizzle or JJ during the Jets game last year, where he yelled at Rex "YOU MADE THIS AND NOW YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH US". The Steelers can't be mad at our success as they had a hand in this monster we now are.
Granted we haven't yet won the big one in this new era, but we are right there and will be for the forseeable future. We are the sexy version of what they want to be with all of our defensive and now upcoming offensive stars. Arguably because of Flacco, we get a huge jump in TV play on NFL talkshows. I for one have noticed that jump.
All this in under 20 years of existence? The advice in that is, don't poke the lion unless you want to be eaten. Yeah, the hate is between the fans and the feeling are mutual, but I love it.Last edited by Stealthbirds80; 08-23-2012 at 01:48 PM.

Re: Ryan Clark only hates the Ravens twice a year
Yes, I watch Steeler games. A fist pump is hardly over the top. I still say saying Tomlin shows to much emotion is ridiculous. And when he does those things, he does not do them often. I don't care about Gatorade baths. I think I even stated that they were okay, in fact, I think they are great for the team and morale. Harbaugh always seems pissed off. He seems to rip his headset off and jaw at the refs quite often. Way more than other coaches. His brother seems to be the same way. Always pissed off. Not that I care, just an observation.
I wish Tomlin would get pissed more often. Like us regular people, NFL coaches are all different. On the flip side, maybe Harbaugh needs a big hug!

I noticed that, too. It's like, OK, we get it: you have few things nice to remember about last season because it was punctuated by 1) a Ravens ass-kicking, 2) a Ravens come-from-behind win of epic proportions, and 3) a loss to Tim F. Tebow. But the reliance on this, "Ha ha, oh yeah? Well, yinz celebrate with Gatorade!" barb is getting old.
You were a Dick Lebeau defense playing at home and had 92 yards to stop us from giving Harbs that bath, and you didn't.

Nahh, you're not the only one. I'm with ya, I have a lot of respect for the organization. They are a hard hitting defensive team and I like that. That doesn't mean that I like them. I hate those bastards sometimes, but there is respect there.
What I do hate are their fans that are the textbook definition of bandwagon. They really piss me off. I remember the first ravens vs steelers game I went to. The first home game at memorial stadium in 96. I was out and about having a smoke and grabbing another beer and such during half time and started talking to a guy out there smoking with me. We were talking about the game and he asked me which team I was rooting for.
In his defense, I was wearing a ravens hat, but not a jersey or anything. It had a small logo on the front but wasn't purple or anything. I pointed to the logo on the hat and walked away. He wasn't wrong to ask... the stadium was probably at least half steeler fans. I started hating them that day, and it's only gotten worse.

Re: Ryan Clark only hates the Ravens twice a year
I do not like nor do I respect anything about the stealers period, point blank!
"It's like a rerun ... Everybody knows how this story ends, with us and the Steelers. It's about time we changed it, and give people something new. Right now, it's kind of like we pride ourselves on being a bully, but they're the ones that keep knocking us out of the playoffs. So they're the bully. One day you just got to say '[screw] it' and punch the bully totally in his mouth. Then they won't bully you any more." T-Sizzle
