Re: Art Modell Gravely Ill...
Obviously this season should be and will be dedicated to Art Modell. He brought NFL football back to the most football hungry fans in the NFL and he didn't let the Commissioner, Jack Kent Cooke or bitter Cleveland fans stop him. Mr. Modell will always be a hero to Baltimore and forever remembered as a visionary. RIP Art Modell

The world has lost a funny man besides all the things you all have listen and will list, I will remember that most, for there is healing in laughter and he was a hell of a doctor at it.
R.I.P. Art, you were one of a kind among NFL owners. One of a kind.

We'll miss you Art and you will always be appreciated in Baltimore. Thanks to you my 18 month old son will have Baltimore Ravens football to grow up and enjoy. You left the organization with such a classy man and a great owner. Waking up to hear this was so sudden and heart breaking. Take care up there Art and enjoy the time back with your wife. I'll be sure to thank you when I see you.

Re: Art Modell RIP
Rest In Peace Mr. Modell.
The revererence and respect he was afforded by all Ravens fans was fully deserved and he will be greatly missed.
Let's go to NOLA and win it all for him and Pat!“I told everyone that if I went to Pittsburgh I would have to throw up on my jersey every time I played,” - Double J will always be a Raven

Re: Art Modell RIP
RIP Art - Thanks for the memories - both in Baltimore and Cleveland. Neither location would be what it is today without you.

Re: Art Modell RIP
Best Preston article I've ever read:
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/r...1772981.column
I had the good fortune of attending the 2007 Ravens Kickoff Luncheon thanks to a generous Sun boards poster who worked in the Sun's marketing department. For a die hard Ravens fan like me, it was an incredible experience. One of the things I got to do was say hello to Art, shake his hand, and thank him for bringing the team to Baltimore and allowing us to create our new football identity. It was a 5 second encounter, but one that I'll always be glad I got the chance to do. I'm sure numerous others over the last 16 years have had similar experiences.
I'll end with saying it again, Thank You Art!!!Never get in a fight with a pig; you both get muddy, and the pig likes it...

Mr. Modell, you were a class act your entire life. AND a good life it was. You gave so much, not only to the NFL, but to the cities of Cleveland and Baltimore. We will miss you. Rest In Peace... Bc

Re: Art Modell Gravely Ill...
This is absolutely correct. My father in law is suffering mightily since he lost his wife of 53 years. It saddens me to see him so heart broken but what's worse is that I am completely helpless to do anything to ease his pain.
In a weird way Art and my father in law are examples of how much you can love a person to a point where you slowly just break down without them. Its sad but it shows what real love is.
God Bless the Modell family.

Re: Art Modell Gravely Ill...
After the tribute and moment of silence Monday the crowd should erupt into a 'Thank You Art' chant. Everyone in that stadium owes thanks to Art Modell. Without him they wouldn't be there.
