I agree, ugly. Back in the day though, they would have been pretty svelte I am sure. I saw a short vid on the evolution of the Steeler uniforms and their colors. This was the only one of what I believe to be only a total of three different uniform variations despite the team's long history. I think this one had the crest of the city of Pittsburgh on it - but I don't see it, so maybe it was another one. I dig the other throwback jersey's. But these, I shudder . . . .

When they go back to the 30s they're just guessing. They don't even have good color pictures of what they wore, if they even have color pictures. They also could have picked the 60's jerseys which were a hell of a lot cooler

I know I am hugely in the minority, but I like it. I played rugby though, and they look a lot like a rugby jersey and that's probably why.

I agree HKusp. I like the Rugby throwback... They are definitely different than what we are used to. I looked at that blog link posted above and I really like all three of the 60's era jerseys.

I think they should just go all the way back to the late 1800's Collegiate style knit wool sweaters with a big letter on it.

EDIT: But no matter what any team does.... these will always be the best throwbacks period.
