Indeed lol, what's strange to me is that this is the first recorded crime that I can find on him. He must have either been really pissed off with something, been playing too much Grand theft auto, or he took some roofies like they did in hangover or something lol.

NT is a premium position to us right now, I am not sold on our defense up the middle at all. Watch how Redman exploits it this Sunday (unless they make the right decision, and move Ngata to NT).

If Cody can play this Sunday like he did against Oakland, the Steelers may not be able to run the ball very well.

That's true, it's just a case of him being more consistent I guess. He had a great game, almost as good as he played against the Jets last year.

When are the waiver claims made?

It would make sense to claim him before the Steelers game for any inside INFO, you know the Pats would do it.

If he makes to the Ravens, I think Ozzie is going to claim him. However, the points made by other posters are accurate, in that some other team will probably claim him before the Ravens have a chance. The Ravens are getting beated physically on the DL. That is unlike anything we have seen with them in a very long time. I don't think that you can fix the run defense with a change of scheme, when your NT is getting pushed 5 yards backwards by an offensive lineman that weighs 40 lbs less than he does.

I watched extensive tape of this kid, and talent is not the problem at all here, he was one of the better NT prospects that I've seen for a while, I'm in no way betting money here, but I can easily see a 3-4 based team like the Cowboys claiming him before us, they need Dline help badly, especially at NT.
He's also nowhere near the player that Aquib Talib is.

He's not coming here. He's a Terrance Cody clone, except immature, inexperienced, and not as good. His position would be redundant

Claims must be made by 4:00 today. If he's claimed, it will likely come out around 5-6ish.

Even if the Ravens place a claim, I would expect someone with a higher priority to claim him.

That said, one interesting note: He has a partially guaranteed contract, so any team claiming him would be on the hook for some of those future guarantees is they decide to also jettison him in the future.

If he did come here you'd have to cut Cody or Kemo. They're not going to carry an extra DT. He's not going to beat out either of those guys this year.

Speaking of Cody I think he has a big game on Sunday. He has owned Pouncey since college, I just wish the coaching staff would let him go back to his unorthodox style which is the one armed push up to shed blockers. That's when he was effective.

I dont think he compares to Cody at all, but I don't think he will be a Raven either. It's not like Pittsburgh is chock full'o nose tackles either. So, if they were willing to part ways with him you'd have to think that the Ravens probably wouldn't be interested either.

Not saying that it's going to happen - or that they are even interested - but they could cut Bryan Hall if they needed to make a move.

True. I hadn't thought about him. Hall gives you something a little different than the others though because he's a lot more athletic but smaller.

Honestly if we were looking to make a move I'd still like to consider Brian Price who is still available.

Agreed. I don't think we're going to get a shot at him, but I was just bringing up Hall because, if they felt that Ta'amu could be a part of their future, I would think they could find someone to let go in order to be able to place a waiver claim on him. After all, Kemo is unlikely to be back next year, so they're going to need someone to, at worst, back-up Cody.

Ok everyone, did I miss something because he was charged with 5 felonies.
    Were they dropped???
Because if not, he could be in some serious trouble, yes?

Yeah, I don't think he's just gonna get a PBJ on this one lol. Total of 18 counts, now of course I didn't read the police report obviously just what was on the news but most will be merged and a handfull just tossed like the aggrivated assault and so on. Hard to prove he swerved at officers on purpose.

He'll get the DUI's and Felony Fleeing and Eluding, probably get 90 days jail and 2 years probation. If he gets anything less than 30 days in jail it'll be a miracle for him.

Edit: Now all that being said I'd claim him just for depth maybe later in the year and cetainly for future depth. Kemo is gone after this year and we dont have much along the line, of QUALITY depth.
