Re: Big Ben
#19 on the list describes the injury. Your third link is not relevant, as it refers to an acromio-clavicular separation (at the other end of the clavicle.
I would certainly go with those who predict that Ben will not be playing on Sunday, and indeed for weeks after. If you injure the sterno-clavicular joint, just breathing hurts. Some people joke that Ben could try to throw left-handed. Just put your finger on your SC joint (where the clavicle meets the breastbone) and rotate either shoulder or move either arm in a throwing motion. The clavicle rotates in the joint. So try to imagine what it would be like if a ligament or two there were torn, and then add in a rib injury. That boy is hurting, folks. I'll be very surprised it we see him behind center for either of our games. Get ready for Lefty, and hope that our team will play well enough to win. As someone wrote earlier in the thread, this is an opportunity to go up by two in the division. After playing the Steelers in Pitt, then traveling across the country to play the Chargers and coming back home, there's absolutely no guarantee that we'll win our home game.

Re: Big Ben
I'd rather a 100% Leftwich than a 50% Roethlisberger; if he plays, make sure he isn't like he played in San Fran last year.
Are chances got pegged a bit, but we can still win without Ben. WILL we win without him if he plays is another story...

Re: Big Ben
with a full week (almost) to prepare, Haley can put in a good gameplan for Lefty. Last night he just came in and did the old wind up and zip. There will be some of those bombs but they have time to expand the plays and give him a lot more options so it's not on his arm to win it.

Re: Big Ben
For the most part I believe that Ben milks his injuries. I get it - he's tough. But there are a lot of other QB's in the league who, granted may not hold on to the ball as long, but play against the same teams and aren't constantly in the hospital - especially when you consider the Mannings, Favre, Rivers, and Flacco who have strung together hundreds of consecutive games between them.
This however, may keep him out. You can hobble around on a broken ankle as a QB but if your arm/shoulder is shot you're not going to be useful. On the other hand, the Steelers D is really humming right now - in the past 4 games they're averaging 228 yds. We can't get into those half hour slumps on offense.
Fun Fact: Suppose Ben is out for at least 3 weeks. If the Ravens win the next 3, and the Steelers lose the next 3 (dropping a game to the Browns) the Ravens clinch the division.

Re: Big Ben
Living here, i could not get ANY smack talk today. I think the sqeelers are in trouble. Really sounds like ben will not play this game, but i'm guessing, he return in Baltimore. The vibe is dust off leftwich, and play the game. So imo, Flacco needs to look good on the road, which i think in pitt he will be up to par. Rank wise the sqeelers are #1. But flacco knows this team. I really liked a sweep from the beginning, and now i feel really good for that. WE get this one and get them in the BANK, AFC North Champs!!
Also with the battled balls last week( awesome D), With Leftwich slow loong Throws, we can be in for another treat in battled balls.

Re: Big Ben
I think Ben misses both Ravens games. I don't see him coming back in 3 weeks or less.
