Steeler Doctors believe Roethlisberger will be out for 3 weeks.

Good possibility that he could miss the 2nd Ravens game as well.
I'd be real surprised if he didnt end up missing more. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

I hate to speak like this because a guy is injured, but the Ravens caught a real break if this is true.
The most important player on our archrival out for both games? We HAVE to take advantage of this opportunity--not only to win the division but also to stay within striking distance of the Texans.

I heard he could miss 1-3 weeks.... I think it depends on the outcome of tonight's game weather he plays in B'more or not. If the Ravens win, he plays, if not, he sits in B'more as well.

The guys internal organs are in danger, I think the next 3 weeks is minimum.

Right on. I got nothing bad to say about Ben the football player, even w/ his pseudo-Munchausen Syndrome drama episodes, It's his off the field misbehavior that lost me.
There is no way a Webb-less Ravens secondary defends against the Pitts. burners all night w/ Ben extending the plays. We are definitely catching a break tonight, one that I'd have no problem w/ catching again on 12/2. If we can stop their run, Leftwich or Choo-Choo Charlie can't beat us by themselves.

Until I see Roethlisberger on the field again, I'm taking all reports with more salt than you find in soy sauce.

Exactly. Right now this is just something to keep opponents guessing. You have to plan for two QB's, since you don't know when he'll return. Right now only Cleveland knows for sure that they will not be facing Ben. I am not counting us because we didn't know for sure until really late in the week.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarrely inexplicable…
There is another theory which states that this - has - already - happened…

The league needs to investigate the Steelers.

Re: Steeler Doctors believe Roethlisberger will be out for 3 weeks.
I bet 4-6 weeks... IMO there is no way he plays in three weeks. Not only is he at risk of major vascular injury (although unlikely), he is at a higher risk for nerve injury (Brachial Plexus)... just from going through the throwing motion. He isn't even in position to be evaluated for another week (quote from sideline reporter last night). That means it won't even be until next week that they will know more about when he returns. Like I said earlier in a different thread. I would be very surprised to see Ben on the field again this year. He may be able to play again before the season is over... but why put him out there if/when your season is lost (if they do lose a few more).

He can't even lift his arm right now. He won't be back in 3 weeks, much less 6 or more. Probably done for the year if I am a betting man.

Re: Steeler Doctors believe Roethlisberger will be out for 3 weeks.
Even if/when he comes back this year, there is still a question of how effective he will be. He came back from an injury last year and was not good in the last weeks of the season even before losing to Tim Tebow. If he comes back with sore ribs he is going to have to be wearing a kevlar vest or something because he always takes a couple of good hits every game.
