Re: Steeler Doctors believe Roethlisberger will be out for 3 weeks.
There is not a chance in hell he plays the next two weeks....the Steelers aren't stupid enough to jeopardize the career of their franchise QB.....
I'm told Ben Roethlisberger still has pain with many simple movements, seven days after he suffered shoulder and first rib injuries in the Monday-nighter against Kansas City, and anyone forecasting a week for him to return is guessing. Roethlisberger has no sense when he'll be able to return. But according to Dr. Clark Fuller, the director of Thoracic Surgery at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., Roethlisberger has to be careful about returning too soon because of damage it can do to nerves in the right shoulder and arm, major blood vessels in the area, and, as Roethlisberger admitted last week, the aorta around the heart.
"This is not about being a tough guy,'' said Fuller, who has neither examined Roethlisberger nor seen his X-rays or scans. So he made it clear he was speaking generally about the dislocation of the first rib, which is connected to the breast bone on one side and the spine on the other. A throwing motion, he said, would not allow the rib to heal, and he would not recommend it any time soon. "Playing football with a dislocated first rib would put you at severe risk. There are many things to be concerned about, including destroying the nerves in the arm.''
Fuller said he thought Roethlisberger would miss a minimum of four weeks. "I do remember their coach, Mike Tomlin, not allowing that safety [Ryan Clark] to play in altitude in Denver because of his sickle-cell disease,'' Fuller said. "That is a good sign, to me. I believe he won't risk the health of Roethlisberger."

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I hate the Steelers as much as the next guy, and say what you will about Ben as a person (I tend to be an "innocent until proven guilty" kind of guy, myself, and as I recall, he was never found guilty of anything...), but I do hope he gets through this injury without seriously damaging himself for the rest of his life, or even costing himself his life.

Re: Steeler Doctors believe Roethlisberger will be out for 3 weeks.
Huh? 2009? That was the year that the Steelers won because three Ravens touchdowns were called back, and an interception was called back for "illegal contact" even though Roethlisberger was out of the pocket when the "illegal contact" happened so therefore "illegal contact" doesn't exist.
Or are you talking about the AFC Championship game where the Steelers beat the Ravens led by a rookie, who did much better in his first AFCCG than Roethlisberger did. And Roethlisberger wasn't doing any domination that game, that was all defense.
I think you are getting mixed up with the 2007 game, against the 5-11 Ravens with their starting three cornerbacks injured. That is the only time Roethlisberger has ever dominated the Ravens. He usually wins his games against the Ravens similar to how Flacco won the game last night. Except he usually has some bullshit calls involved, or touchdowns where the ball never crossed the goalline.
By the way, 2009 is three years ago.

I wonder if the urgency to get Big Jen back in uniform is amped up now that their #2 QB is out. If Batch misses a few plays, they'll have to use that no name guy that they just signed.

didn't we see Bobby Hoyer with the Eagles a few years ago? Donovan McNabb got benched and Ed Reed had the 108 yard pick six as I recall...
oops, sorry, that was Kevin Kolb. Hoyer had a cup of coffee wi the Cheatriots.

I seriously wouldn't be surprised to see Ben put on IR.

Do some math yinzer.
Stealers founded in 1933 - 6 Lombardi's
Ravens founded 1996 - 1 Lombardi
How can you compare when you've been a franchise 60 years longer?
Averages.
Stealers average is 1 Lombardi every 13 years.
If the Ravens win the SB this year they'll average a Lombardi every 8 years. That would mean the Ravens win 1/3 of the time more than the Stealers.
If the Ravens win a trophy in the next 4 years they can still best the Stealers average.Last edited by Sirdowski; 11-21-2012 at 03:55 PM.
