Bad play call and a bad route by Pitta... you need to run PAST the first down marker, not in front of it.

Nice block from KO on Woodley there though.

KO shoved him down to the ground.

3 and out here's the classic road offense

Someone in another thread suggested this game could be a blowout. At this point, I agree.

Pitta was the hot receiver. His job was not to get past the sticks, it was to be there so Flacco had someone to get the ball to before the blitz got there.

Would any of us be shocked if it was?

Everybody wants to crap on Reed, but in reality, despite a couple big hits, Pollard has taken a step back in sure tackling as well.

That complete whiff on Leftwich is unlike anything I've seen from a supposed big "enforcer" type of safety.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

No, on the replay it showed Pitta dropped it.

You can just see that Pittsburgh knew exactly what was coming there; they show blitz, Flacco goes to the hot read, and Pitta was DOUBLE COVERED. Everyone and their mother knew who the ball was going to there.

Yea, I don't understand why there would be more than one outlet route on 3rd down and ______.

The outlet should be Rice or Pierce and everyone else running should be in a route that exceeds where the 1st down marker is.

Ok D has to show up on this possession. The last thing we need is to be down by two scores. Rice may as well take off his pads at that point based on past history

Tbf that's the first huge mistake he's made this year.

It was a hot route so Joe wouldn't get killed by the biltz.
