Oakland wave Aaron Curry, any interest?

Any interest? What happened to this guy anyway? He goes from a can't miss type pick back in 09 going fourth overall, considered the best LB prospect in the last decade, and ends up getting traded to Oakland and now he gets waived. I get his constant injury issues, but what else was so wrong with him? Never really followed his career after he got drafted.

    I would.

Very athletic. I'd like to see him as a 3-4 ILB. He was always a good run stopper.

Agreed. We need some speed on defense.

I would. Not sure why, but I don't see them picking him up.

According to that article he had knee problems this year, maybe that's why he was let go.

curry was a beast, but if oackland is letting him go it must be bad.
"It's like a rerun ... Everybody knows how this story ends, with us and the Steelers. It's about time we changed it, and give people something new. Right now, it's kind of like we pride ourselves on being a bully, but they're the ones that keep knocking us out of the playoffs. So they're the bully. One day you just got to say '[screw] it' and punch the bully totally in his mouth. Then they won't bully you any more." T-Sizzle

Not necessarily. That whole franchise is snake bitten.

    Agreed.

Zach Miller was one of the best TE's in the league when he was in Oakland and they let him go. They also let Wimbley go.

The problem is Dennis Allen is trying to make that team his and get his guys in there. Curry wasn't one of his guys.

He missed the whole year so far up until the Ravens games because of his bad knees. Against Baltimore he played 8 plays (5 ST) and got two personal fouls. Not sure if that's why they waived him or if his knees are just shot. I guess the Ravens could bring him in for a physical but sounds like his legs are toast.

why would one of the worse defenses in the league cut a player that could bring something? just sayin

Took a peak at the Raiders board; they're pissed. Coaches think he plays out of control and not within a system. If his knees are not the problem, maybe coaching could bring him along.

He probably doesn't play within the system because the Oakland system sucks, they are awful. If he came here, he'd have more freedom to play to his strength, and would be playing around world class players like Reed, and Suggs.

But . . . can we pay him anything?

Let's see drafted by the Raiders, traded by the raiders, reacquired by the raiders and cut by the Raiders. That's bad. Definition of a true bust so I'm not sure what a change of scenery here in Baltimore is going to do when we've only got 6 games left. I'll pass.

Curry had the same issue with the Seahawks. That's why they dumped him. Pete was sick of trying to convince Curry to do what he was supposed to. Finally he had enough and traded him for almost nothing.
