Norv would have his pick of jobs. I doubt he would come back to the mid-atlantic.

I was dead set against Caldwell when he was announced here as the QB coach. I assumed he had to be terrible, given the Irsay's collapse last year. I also figured Manning did not need a QB coach to be successful. Truth be told I could never be favorably disposed to anyone in that organization.

But I think I was wrong. I really like Caldwell. He always seemed calm and composed, very similar to Joe's personality. The times I have watched him interact with Flacco I see quiet respect. I really do not think Cam is going anywhere, but if Caldwell got the job I think Joe and him would make a good team.

I'm kind of starting to think that the Ravens should move away from the Air Coryell altogether.

Jim Caldwell would and should be the next OC. That's why he came here.

That would work for me. Let Cam's contract expire and just promote Caldwell. We'd have to find another QB coach.

I'm not so sure about that giving he's calling the offensive plays. His situational football playcalling is very suspect.

I like the idea but we should be careful of what we wish for. The guy has zero experience as an offensive coordinator

He's not going to get any if no one gives him a shot.

    No, the Coryell stays!

He does have experience calling plays as Indianapolis' head coach.

Rest assured. Cam Cameron's contract will expire. It will not be renewed, and if they can't get the guy they really want, they will promote Caldwell.

What would be good is maybe go a little west coast but keep a significant element of the Coryell in the play book. I don't think Flacco's skill set suits a quick passing dink and dunk game, but some faster developing routes are exactly what this team needs.

    Re: Norv Turner

early this year there were lots of reports "Cameron won't be retained" and the like. They ended up bringing him back and he himself said he was surprised about it. It was posted as a 'lucrative extension".

I've yet to see the terms of the contract. Does anyone have a link?

for some reason the terms of the contract seem to be 'unavailable'. I heard a rumor that he gets $2M a year into perpetuity as long as he runs at least 3 end arounds and twice a game on 3rd and short they must throw it 40 yards. seriously
