Baltimore Ravens Hall of Famer Jonathan Ogden was in town on Friday evening and it wasn’t to give the Ravens a boost on the offensive line.

Ogden was on hand at the Grand Lodge of Maryland for his First Annual Grand Legacy Gala all to benefit the Jonathan Ogden Foundation and the Masonic Charities of Maryland.

The evening belonged to Ogden, who was clad in his brand new Hall of Fame jacket. The Ravens’ first ever Hall of Fame selection greeted guests and posed for several pictures during the fun filled event.

“J.O. is such a great guy in the community and does so much for so many people,” replied one guest when asked about Jonathan.

Several local celebrities were on hand to support J.O. including former Raven Wally Willams and local sports radio personality Scott Garceau.

” The turnout is amazing for the first Legacy Gala, I can’t thank everyone enough,” the Ravens’ 11-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle stated. “Anytime you can give assistance to those in need is a great thing,” Ogden added.

Guests were treated to top of the line food as well as an outstanding silent auction featuring numerous memorabilia from J.O.’s playing days.

Throughout the night highlights were played on T.V.screens in the main ballroom and I found myself taking a walk down memory lane.

The Ravens were lucky have such a classy guy who played with determination and pride. If there was a Hall of Fame for player positives in the community he would no doubt be another sure first-ballot entrant.

The Jonathan Ogden Foundation, Inc. was established in 1996 as a tax-exempt charitable organization to assist young people in disadvantaged communities, particularly to develop self esteem through athletics and education.
