KIDZ KORNER: Divisional Round v. Texans

Ok… lets be real here. Not only am I writing this blog to give my analysis on Baltimore football, but really I just needed a break from hearing about the Denver Tebows and the miracle maker himself. And just in case you haven’t heard, Tim Tebow led his team to a win against the Pittsburgh Squealers.

What an amazing sight, seeing Roethlisberger hobble around on his “injured” ankle and making mistake after mistake. Even better than that sight, seeing Steeler fans everywhere crying into their little yellow towels realizing that their teams season is OVER!

Pittsburgh, you just got TEBOWED!

Now, let’s get back to the 2011 AFC North Champions!

After a relaxing Bye-Week, we look on to the Houston Texans. The Texans stomped all over the Bengals 31-10. Arian Foster ran 24 times for 153 yards and two TD’s against a pretty good Bengals defense. Their defense picked off “Big Red” 3 times and played almost a perfect game.

I strongly believe that the Texans are very similar to the team that we are. They have a good QB in T.J Yates that has a cannon and if you don’t put the pressure on him, he will make you pay! Arian Foster’s fashion statements speak for themselves. But on the field, he is a guy that you do NOT want to see in the open-field. Don’t forget about Andre Johnson either. He is proven to be one of the best receivers in the league and he’s always tough to play against.

WARNING: Do not look ahead to the AFC Championship quite yet.

I know many people, as well as myself, are already hoping for a Denver win against New England because then, we will get the AFC Championship at home. The game this Sunday is anything but an automatic. You might say “Well, we played them in week 6 and beat them by 15 points”. But the fact is, this game is 100% different than the week 6 game.

That week, Andre Johnson was hurt and not able to play. Houston only has about three play-making receivers that play on a regular basis. In this coming game, they will have Johnson back which makes the game plan entirely different. It has been proven time after time that the Ravens are very weak in the Secondary. With a playmaker like Andre Johnson and a speedster like Jacoby Jones behind him, we are going to have a very tough time accounting for both of them.

Also, we haven’t seen T.J Yates yet. Matt Schuab started the Week 6 game and played in its entirety. But, Yates is young and hasn’t experienced as powerful of a defense as our graduates of Ball So Hard University. That being said, If Suggs and Co. “Ball So Hard” this game, it’s on to an AFC Championship and another step closer to Indy.

Quick Stats from Week 6:

  • Arian Foster: 15 carries for 49 yards 0 TD’s
  • Billy Cundiff: 5-5 on FG’s
  • Ray Rice: 161 yards from scrimmage
  • Tim Jamison: 2 sacks and a Forced Fumble

Agree with your analisis, we are playing a dangerous team in the Houston Texans. Also glad to see the drama end on the big Ben drama show! Really, don’t you think he just might have found two shoes of the same color to wear……oh no that might not have have been a constant reminder that he had an excuse for anything that might go wrong. The sizes maybe had to be different, but the color…..PLEASE!!!
