KIDZ KORNER: Flacco vs. RG3

Traveling down I-95 to take on Washington, the Ravens will look to prove skeptics wrong and bring a win back home to Baltimore. They eye a 4th straight win on the road, something that has been hard to come by in Charm City.
In the history of the Baltimore Ravens, there has never been a four-game road win streak. What a feat!
Doubters will doubt, and critics will critique, but the only thing John Harbaugh and Co. have to focus on is winning. Improving to 10-3 is the biggest thing on the agenda.
Although the birds are winners of four or their last six, Joe Flacco has been reckless to say the least. In those previous six games, Flacco has had fewer than 200 yards in four of them. Joe has had his accuracy drop steadily and it is obvious on the field.
Sunday’s game in Washington is crucial for Flacco’s reputation in Baltimore. I’ll admit, I have been one of the fans that have been critical, but the critiques have been worthy. Flacco has looked like a completely different QB in the 2nd half of the year.
In his 5th year, Joe still lacks a leadership role on the offense. This 2012 team isn’t like years past; and if Flacco wants to take the team far, he must take the bull by its horns and step up.
On the other side of the field, Robert Griffin III is a proud owner of a three-game win streak. During the span, he has over 600 yards and owns an outstanding 9-1 TD to INT ratio.
He’s no Charlie Batch, that’s for sure. Griffin is actually a GOOD QB and has the ability to stick 30+ points up on Sunday if Dean Pees and the defense don’t play their cards right.
The lack of pass rush has been astounding in the past few games, but so has blatant lack of coverage. Wide-open receivers have continued to plague the Ravens over the past few games as the middle of the field has been a go-to-route for opposing receivers.
Calling Mr. Ed Reed………
It’s obvious that Reed isn’t “Reed” anymore, but he still has the opportunity to be the difference in this week’s game. With Ray out for at least one more week, Ed has to be the glue that keeps this defense together. Get in RGIII’s head early and— advantage Ravens.
While many people didn’t circle this game as being “The Battle of the QB’s”, the deciding factor will be the play of the two men under center!
