KIDZ KORNER: Interview – Bobby Rainey

Print Ravens 2013 Schedule

I had the great chance to interview Ravens RB Bobby Rainey earlier this week. Bobby is currently on the active roster after being on the Practice Squad earlier in the year.

Joe Wedra: What was it like to find out that you would be part of the Ravens? What were your thoughts?

Bobby Rainey: It was crazy, surreal, & a blessing at the same time. I was just ready to start playing football & learn as much as I can from Ray Rice & the other vets.

JW: What is it like to play behind Ray Rice? What have you learned from him?

BR: Just playing with Ray period is fun. I have learned a lot of things on the field with Ray as far as defensive schemes & how to keep the body healthy on this level. I learn more from him off the field though. Ray is just like me and he will say the same. Ray has a huge hurt for kids just as I do.

JW: Who was your inspiration to make it to the NFL and why?

BR: My mom because she took care of 4 kids including me and we never wanted for anything. I want to be able to take care of her and my 3 sisters.

JW: When did you know you had a shot to be in the NFL?

BR: When I 1st started playing little league football. HA! That was my dream and I was going to do everything to make that happen.

JW: Growing up, who was your favorite NFL team and why?

BR: Never had a favorite team. I had players and Barry Sanders was my idol because of how he ran the ball and never took big hits.

JW: What has been the best experience being with the Ravens?

BR: Being able to help out my family and going back home to talk to the kids and really be an inspiration.

JW: What are your goals going forward?

BR: To be the best man & NFL player I can be and Praising my Lord & savior Jesus Christ while doing it.

JW: If you could tell Ravens fans one thing what would it be?

BR: Blame No one, Make No Excuses, & Do Something!
