Matt Birk Has Dropped 75 Pounds Since Retiring

Given the attention paid to Ray Lewis’ “last ride” during the Ravens playoff run, contributions of other vested veterans like Matt Birk were overshadowed. Ray wasn’t the only one able to go out on top and retire following a championship.

Since Birk’s retirement, the offensive line has struggled, to say the least, and the biggest hole appears to be at center, where Birk’s replacement, Gino Gradkowski, has been inconsistent. Due to Gradkowski’s struggles as a first-year starter, chatter on social media has fans wishing that Matt Birk would step out of retirement.

Fans started to get excited when Birk posted the following message on his Twitter account during the opening game of the season. Birk wrote: “Just watching the game. Ready if needed.”

Now, with Birk’s latest photo on social media, any Ravens fan clamoring for a return should understand that’s not going to happen. Promoting the fitness program Body By Vi, Birk posted a link on Twitter, showing off his new physique. Matt has lost 75 pounds and ten inches off of his waist since February!

Down to approximately 235, Birk has no business on the offensive line. However, it’s great to see a player who has put their body through 15 grueling seasons in the NFL do something to ensure his health during the next phase of his life.

Body by Vi is a soy based product so I for one would not use it, however it does look like it worked for Matt. I do not sell these products however I would suggest Advocare LOL Trent Dilfer uses it so it must be good! LOL
