“Bounty Hunting”

This conduct is wrong on every level and transcends “cheating”. When someone is offered money to deliberately injure another person, whether it occurs on a street corner or during a sporting event, it’s ILLEGAL, and deserves punishment as a…..crime!

We have recently seen where a college lacrosse player was found guilty of 2nd degree murder because his girlfriend died after he deliberately beat her up. Suppose a player is offered money to deliberately put a player out of a game and, as a result of a “helmet to helmet” hit, for example, the “victim” bangs his head on the turf, fractures his skull, lapses into a coma and….dies! Far fetched? I think not.

Those found to be invloved in this behavior, at a minimum, deserve banishment from the league and at a maximum, criminal prosecution! Anything less would exacerbate the travesty and send the wrong message!
