The Ravens activated inside linebacker Jameel McClain on Saturday from the reserve – physically unable to perform list, and cut tight end Billy Bajema. McClain is expected to dress for Sunday’s game against the Steelers, and see his first action in 10 months since suffering a spinal cord contusion last December against the Redskins.
McClain’s return comes at an opportune time for the Ravens, with starting inside linebacker Josh Bynes (infected finger) not playing Sunday. Rookie Arthur Brown might be called upon to start, but it remained possible that McClain could start, or see significant action. McClain practiced all week, and he started the first 13 games for the Ravens last season before suffering his injury. Backup linebacker Albert McClellan has been playing with a sprained shoulder.
Bajema has been on and off the Ravens’ roster all season. He was most recently re-signed on Oct. 10 after running back Shaun Draugh was released.
