Ravens Add Undrafted Free Agents

James-Hurst

Here is a list of undrafted free agents the Ravens have signed. Remember that wide receiver Marlon Brown and kicker Justin Tucker were signed as undrafted free agents. The Ravens hope to strike similar gold this year.

Xavius Boyd, OLB, Western Kentucky – He led the Sun Belt in sacks (8 ½) and tackles for loss (15 ½).

Terrance Bullitt, LB, Texas Tech – Not the strongest of linebackers, but he has the athleticism to shadow running backs and tight ends in pass coverage.

Jeremy Butler, WR, Tennessee-Martin – Visited with the Packers before the draft, but he may like his chances better with Ravens.

Jace Davis, WR, Northern Colorado – Another wide receiver from smaller school hoping he can make jump to NFL.

Parker Graham, OT, Oklahoma St. – Played every offensive line position during college career.

Derrick Hopkins, DT, Virginia Tech – Undersized tackle will try to standout in a crowded defensive line group.

James Hurst, OT, North Carolina – He was expected to be drafted before a late-season leg injury. If he’s fully recovered, Hurst could make team this fall.

Ryan Jones, C-G, San Jose St. – Left guard is his natural position, and the Ravens may have to do some line shuffling if Kelechi Osemele moves from guard to right tackle.

Richie Leone, P, University of Houston – Leone confirmed his signing on Twitter. He averaged 43.1 yards per punt last season, including 14 punts over 50 yards.

Jamie Meder, DE. DT, Ashland – He had 14 sacks during his college career.

Zach Orr, ILB, North Texas – He was a tackling machine in college, but Ravens inside linebacker picture is crowded.

A. J. Pataiali’i, DT, Utah St. – At 6-foot-3, 307 pounds, Pataiali’i hopes to stick as a run-stuffer.

D. J. Roberts, DE, Tennessee-Martin – Quick off the ball as a defensive lineman, and may have versatility to play outside linebacker.

Sammy Seamster, CB, Middle Tennesee St. – The Chiefs and Dolphins also had interest, but the Ravens have need for a third corner.

Jake Sinkovec, TE, Boston College – His college career blossomed when he switched from linebacker to offense.

Brett Van Sloten, OT, Iowa – The Ravens have had good luck with another former Iowa offensive lineman, Marshal Yanda.

There are some talented corners including Marcus Roberson and Vic Hampton still available; we only have four corners on the roster so to pick up one or both would be awesome

  2. JL on said:

Agree adding a corner or two more for competition would be solid, but Roberson and Hampton both have big question marks on them. They both got middle round grades for the draft but legal and suspension problems likely keeping them off the Ravens board which I am alright with. Bring a couple small school players in and match them up with the NFL talent this team has in camp and see what happens. Brown and Jackson have been around a couple years now so our current corners should be good.

Davon simmions afree safety from old odu he is 6-4 220 and run 4.5 please tell ozzie about this player..he can start for the ravens

  4. chris on said:

At least Ozzie was to busy drafting the same top 3 positions as last year, mlb, dt, and S. Good thing we didnt pick up any quality WR’s for Joe to throw to. Worst offensive in ravens history, and we are hoping cast offs and UDFA to rescue us…. oh well at least the browns lost Josh Gordon, so we will finish 3rd in the division now instead of 4th! 6-10 here we come!!!

Love the Hurst pickup. I still think they sign Eric Winston (post-June 1st so we don’t give up a comp pick) so that Hurst and Wagner can learn under a vet. Seamster is an interesting corner, think he has a good shot at making the roster. Sign another vet there (Asante Samuel perhaps?) and I’d be quite content. Got a few small holes to fill, but it’s still roughly 3 months before the start of the season. I think the writing is on the wall for Koch- Leone is a good punter and why would we bring in a UDFA?

You forgot to include Jerry Rice Jr.

    • Cheri on said:

Dave I hope you are right I sure hope we bring in a vet RT and a vet CB do not feel comfortable just handing the job to Wagner at tacle or C.Brown or Asa as the nickle corner let them compete and with a vet and win those jobs.

  6. Mike Z on said:

Also hearing Jerry Rice Jr? A long shot with little to show for a college career (9 rec/69 yds) But the name is still intriguing.

  7. thebirdsareback on said:

CORNERS REALLY BAD, maybe the ravens biggest need at this point outside of RT which i seriously think we can handle in house with the guys we have right now. CB CB CB CB! Hopefully some fringe dudes get cut during training camp cause if webby or smith goes down at all, we are screwed! Should not have passed on Dennard. But CJ is a beast and he was a great pick right there. I just wish we could of figured a way to get one of the top corners.

Is it me or is a not a very impressive list of signings.Love the Hurst pick up but was hoping for Richardson instead though but Hurst was my 32 choice so that’s good.
Like others, I thought we would had been much more on some of those pretty good corners that did not get drafted disappointed there. Also was hoping we would had gotten Copeland the WR from Rutgers but this seems to happens every year with guys I hope we get we never seem to get them so I guess I am use to it by now.
