One of our message board members, CharmCityCrab, dug up this archived article from the Baltimore Sun discussing a potential expansion franchise in 1993. The name under consideration was the Baltimore Rhinos (yeah, I know, stupid). At the end of the article, one of the potential names under consideration was the Baltimore Ravens. LINK

    I just watched the above Yanda video, and I have an odd question. Does anyone know what the (patches? stickers?) are on his upper jersey? They seem to have some interesting images which I am sure is tied to something. It’s odd what you notice sometimes.

    The name Ravens actually goes back to 1947. There was a contest to name the new Baltimore team and Charles Evans of Middle River suggested the name Colts. The second choice in the contest was the name Ravens.
