OWINGS MILLS — Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice had two primary goals coming into the offseason: Lose weight and also get healthy after dealing with a strained hip flexor for most of last season.

Rice has been dealing with the aftermath of his February arrest. However, while waiting for the legal process to unfold, Rice continues to work toward back bouncing back from by far the worst statistical season of his six-year NFL career.

Rice spent the early part of the offseason working out five days per week with a personal trainer while also working out 2-3 days per week at Ravens team headquarters. Now, he’s among the players in attendance for Baltimore’s voluntary offseason workouts, which began Monday.

Rice’s trainer, Kyle Jakobe, said earlier this offseason that Rice has lost around 15 pounds after weighing around 225 in January, and Ravens strength and conditioning coach Bob Rogucki said Tuesday that Rice “looks great.”

“I’ve spoken to Ray,” Rogucki said. “He’s doing some things differently as far as his diet and so forth, and he told me has a handle on it, so he looks good. Whatever he did from the end of the season until now, he’s in a good position right now.”
