For major television networks and corporations, the Super Bowl is more about the event and spectacle than the actual game being played on the field.

While fans of the Ravens and 49ers will be wishing the 30-minute halftime set was over before it started, there will be a show to entertain the rest of the world during the NFL’s biggest event.

It was already  known that Beyonce would be the halftime performer for Super Bowl XLVII but there are always other surprises along the way to keep the audience entertained. No, we’re not talking about wardrobe malfunctions, we’re talking about special guests.

In an excerpt from Us Weekly, it appears that Beyonce’s original trio of Destiny’s Child will reunite during the half time show:

An insider exclusively tells Us that Beyonce, 31, will perform her hit “Crazy in Love” during a solo set to kick off the show. Midway through the act, she’ll be joined by Rowland, 31, and Williams, 32 to sing a medley of their biggest hits starting with “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Survivor,” and ending with their new track “Nuclear.”

It’s safe to say that the large contingent of Ravens nation in attendance could care less that Beyonce is performing at halftime but the fact that the concert will only turn into a Destiny’s Child reunion is a little disappointing.

These shows are strictly about entertainment and during the biggest moment of 106 players’ and coaches’ professional careers, they have to put their emotions on hold for a half hour for a Destiny’s Child concert. Super Bowl halftime shows make about as much sense as Frank Gore being fined an additional $500 for wearing low socks than Tom Brady was for kicking Ed Reed.

Keep up the good work NFL, it’s all about paying those “Bills, Bills, Bills” anyway.
